Yes, I'd thoroughly recommend the Plane Design Mk. XVI Spitfire.
I highly rate the Shockwave and RealAir versions too - for all its minor inaccuracies Shockwave's bird is easily the best early mark on the market and is always a delight to fly.

For what it's worth, I was having big difficulties with the sim - I was finding it very hard to trim out any of the aircraft with my Cougar's antenna rotary, with even the lightest of inputs commanding a severe pitch up / down. Thanks to this thread I can now trim my fighters out with ease and have ...

Here's one way of doing it: Start a flight up at your favorite airfield with a default Cessna parked up. Shut down the engine and switch everything off (though I tend to leave the avionics switch on) Swap the Cessna for the WWII fighters plane of your choice and switch off anything left on (e.g. fue...

You can use both at the same time. Bear in mind that, great as it is, Golden Wings will change the appearance of the sim, making certain airfields look as they would have during the 1920's and switching the AI plane set - more info can be found here If you just want the ground textures, you can alwa...

I'd buy them for sure but then I'd probably buy anything Shockwave puts out. There are far too many planes to list I'd like to see them produce, but here's a few in no particular order: Heinkel He 111 Junkers Ju 88 Any version of the Mosquito Hawker Hurricane Mk. I with three bladed prop Hawker Temp...

The point is if you shun Shockwave because a 2D panel is missing then your are shunning one of the few developers who actaully knows how to do warbird flight dynamics correctly. IMHO the flight dynamics are far more important than a 2D panel Sums it up nicely :) In addition, the 3d pits give you a ...

But cumulative. I'm much more worried about the lack of (anticipated) Uhu-implementation-style reflector sights myself. *grin* (I'm sure SW wiill fix the reversed operation on the mlg indicators.) Yes, I know what you mean - a reflector gunsight that could be switched on / off would be nice if poss...
