a DC-4 / C-54 does seem a sensible bet, as Taildraggin' mentioned previously. This doesn't seem to fit with the astrological 'clue' though. Canadair North Star? For the astrological connection... AKA Argonaut in BOAC use. From Wikipedia a 1940s Canadian development of the Douglas C-54 / DC-4 aircra...

Remember that a dual core cpu wont run any faster for a single-threaded application, and as most dual-cores use slower cores than an equivalent priced single-core cpu there may be no benefit. You can use perfmon to analyse your current system to give a clue to where the bottlenecks are. Any body int...

Osram, been racking my brain but cant remember which museum, it was a small one, probably in Norfolk on the site of an ex-USAAF base. I think the sight was set-up with a silhoutte target, and probably you are right the way it was set up made it appear trickier to use than in reality. Re the HUD - yo...

Osram, I cant remember what A/C the reflector sight was from, it was several years ago. But it did require concentration to line up...not like the simple ring sight on Biggles Camel! A modern hud is an electronic device (I believe) where pixels are made opaque on a transparent screen that you look t...

IRL the sights you could see were a reflection on plain glass of a filament inside the body of the mechanism. If you werent looking 'down the sight' through the glass at the right angle you didnt see them. I've looked through an original reflector sight at a museum and its actually quite difficult, ...

HH, no I measured them both in knots, off the info line rather than try to read the ASI and hold her steady and write at the same time! And I have Imperial measurements set for all, so the 109 wasn't in Kmh. :D I think there is an unconsidered variable in there somewhere, engine management most like...
