Campaign fighting philosophy?
Hello all, sry for being away. The Life(tm) changes and everything. I'm still having the old steam machine but plan to update next year, another thread will go up by that... The question(how does one set up a poll?): - When joining the fight, do you dive away and fly home when attacked? - do you cli...

Re: O/T : Passion for pure sims.
It is the correct choice of words IMO: the Brutality. You can kill but a thousand aliens in a scifi game just at one thought. But the genre Simulation requires something more, something that really happened and you are handed a chance to participate. If it is well done, suddenly those enemies are tu...

Obituary: An actor to remember
Richard Todd. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0865262/ One excellent source FlyPast May 2005. I saw 'Dam Busters' as a kid. Later I learned that Todd had participated into para operations during WWII including D-Day. Nevertheless, I bought the 'Dam Busters' from HMV from Trafford Mall in 1999 and have be...

Re: night ops?
Concerning the night, along the years I have wondered the lack of British Bomber Command operations in simulations. I would gladly fly a Whitley all night long and pee into hydraulics to keep it fluid, over the Alps (early Bomber Command operation into Italy 1940), though that is hardly simulated bu...

Re: New system not far away, any thoughts?
Its is wild at the "top end" your going to love it Wow. You weren't kidding. Almost speechless and I haven't even flown any combat yet. Fine tuning to do yet but so far all up and flying smooth as silk after checking through the Vista/widescreen threads and a bit of configuration. Absolut...

Ya, SV shows again incredible situation awareness, as he even as a Luftwobble pilot points out good reading to us hapless Hurripilots  The author himself from some magazine http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a340/boxmike/Alfred_Price.jpg and one of my favorites in bed/toilet  http://i1...

Re: Key mapping won't stick
My USB channel is a bit flaky sometimes with my MSFFB2, it's green led remains out thus the stick is not initiated within XP startup. Just does it once per 2 months average. If I do not notice it and start BoBII, BoBII just informs me the joystick controls are reset. Is this connected to the same me...

Re: RIP Ken Mackenzie DFC
Week ago my wife pulled a dust covered DVD from her side of DVD shelf and handed it over to me; a free cover DVD from October 2007 'Aeroplane' magazine, I had already forgotten it and gladly put it into drive immediately. It is about Battle of Britain and specifically 501 Squadron with authentic mat...

Re: AI targetting issues.
Turns out my campaign options has auto-vectoring on by default, so I need to turn it off when I frag into the flight (I frag in when the intercept is reported to make enemy contact). Pardon if I mix some more but aren't campaign settings locked, once campaign is started or is Auto Vectoring setting...

Re: AI targetting issues.
Padlock target and then give radio commands. I fall to same trap quite often and would bang my head to screen; instead I quickly quit, not saving campaign and come the these forums and search. Searching is a bit difficult unless a word or phrase known; I use ALWAYS_SEES_ENEMY, only a part, but becau...

Re: Aces' Bf-109, Bf-110, Spitfire and Hurricane Gunsight mods
Installed and working fine. That JGSME is great stuff, I think I've used it with Panzer Elite eons ago and that one had huge load of mods. A mere curiosity happened because I seldom fly 109 and I started to curse that 'which key takes me behind gunsight(like in IL2 game)?' took a couple of seconds t...
