After wasting hours trying unsuccessfully to configure the kanding lights not to show during daylight hours I need your help.

I have FS9 and have tried to configure daytime off lights using the latest version 1.1. I have then reinstalled the original cab file which came with the installer purchased back in February, version 1.0 that is.

The switcher utility does not work at all. Strangely enough it's looking for an FSX installation which I don't have but I can steer it the the correct path of FS9, but if I choose daytime landing lights off nothing is done to the shockwave cab file.

Could you please let me know the correct entry for daytime off in the xml file so I change that by myself?

BTW with the 1.1 update I cannot work the landing light switches in the cockpit at all. They just woould not stay put. They move to the on position all right but then immediately switch back to the off position, hence no landing lights.

AC is the Aeroworx King Air.

I don't mind having to live with version 1.0 but I definitely expect you to at least provide me with a solution for version 1.0.

Could A2A simulations please be so kind and post a reply !!!! :(

All I want is the syntax to use in the gauge xml file so that landing lights will be off during daytime hours and if that's not possible, at least an on/off switcher which does work.

This is $15.00 product which is not exactly cheap and I am entitled to get a reply. :x :x

Roland,

Sorry about the issues you are having. FSX has limited control over certain lights being on or off, so the way we manage lights not being seen in the day is to, yes, toggle the landing switch off when it is turned on in the day. Unless I am missing something, it seems to be working as it should. This utility was by far the most complex installation we've made in an effort to make it simple, if that makes sense. So far, it's been over 99% capable of dealing with the various configurations out there.

However, in the XML files, if you see any references to TIME OF DAY, then that is the proper XML code for the 'don't show lights during the day' option.

Scott.

Thank you Scott. I have played around with the switcher and the results are follows:

Configured as "Off during daylight": there is a time of day reference in xml but the landing lights cannot be switched on anymore in the plane. Switch immediately goes back to the off-position.

Configured as on during daylight: no time of day reference in xml but now the landing light switch does work and stays in selected position and shockwave landing light are always on.

So the latter setting makes sense. But I want is to to get rid of the shockwave landing light during daytime and it's impossible to configure the xml gauge with the switch utility that way.

Am I really the only one with this issue?

Roland,

I suspect there is a conflict witht the way that developer has programmed their aircraft and the way it handles the lights. If you have some XML gauges they have made that speak to the lights in some way, I would be happy to take a look at them.

Scott.
