I have a vague memory of this event, as RAF Mildenhall is not far from RAF Watton, where I was living at the time. And it wasn't the first time a large aircraft had been flown away by a member of the ground crew. Read on...

By the way, for those across the waters, East Anglia ( referred to in the opening paragraph ) is a collective term for the counties on the eastern side of England, north of London - Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire etc. Anglo-Saxon in origin.

Ugh...wish I hadn't read that without putting on my tinfoil hat first. I knew at some point somebody would say we shot him down.
