I miss this plane in Prepa3D

Post by ethorn »

For the record: I really miss this plane since using Prepar3d v4. I was using it in Prepar3d v3 and it seemed ok despite warnings from A2A that the flight modeling might be off. But, now with the major shift that P3d v4 represents, I don't want to take a chance that it wouldn't work properly. However, the default cub just doesn't cut it.

I would definitely pay for a P3d version of this awesome little plane!

I'm new to this hobby, and one of my favorite aircraft is the old yellow J-3 and now that i bought P3D V4 i also would love to have the Piper Cub.
But in the last two weeks i've been watching on youtube, the best of the Piper Cub brought to current tecnology by Cubcrafters Cub's lineup, they look an absolute dream.
Just a suggestion for your consideration, one of many I am sure.

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried the Accusim Cub in P3Dv4? It worked well enough in v3, and is still one of my top planes to fly, especially for checking out new scenery.

The cub is a bit more basic than the other ones and more likely to work, I think. I might just give it a go and see what happens. If I do, I'll report back. I really miss this thing :(

Trying to run 32bit software on a 64bit platform will never work, and what more you could totally ruin your P3Dv4 install. I would really only recommend using P3Dv4 software on P3Dv4.

But, my desperation!

I was vaguely pondering trying via add-on.xml if I could figure make that work for it, which is pretty unlikely, but I haven't installed anything else from v3 into v4 so I'm realistically not about to start now. Mostly I'm just whining because I miss my favorite plane :(

Add another to the list of who would like to see the A2A Piper Cub in P3d v4. Great little plane.

Yeah, add me to the list as well  The J3 of FSX opened my eyes to A2A aircrafts. Then I upgraded to P3dv3 and could not make it work there either. And my FSX has stopped working. Oh well. I'll just have to do with all the other nice A2A planes :)

We miss the J3 as well and we will get it in, but as Lewis said, we can't predict and ETA especially with all of the custom systems and coding in the Accu-Sim for this bird.

It's very encouraging to read those posts from Scott and Lewis. I'll just keep flying my trusty Comanche and T-6, and sometimes, the Connie, until I get the word that my J-3 and P-40 will be able to fly again.
