Hi Andy,

just downloaded the repaint two days ago. On the right side there seems to be another little typo. Under the forward cockpit it says "EMERGENCcY RESCUE" instead of "EMERGENCY RESCUE". Otherwise, really very nice repaint with all the stencils!!

Hey, folks!

After collecting too much dust for too long time in an Air Force Museum, I decided to take AA+615 into the folds of my hangar.

Now dustin` her up, correcting a few typos on the fuselage (missing "C"s all over the place and an "A" too much at "Aussenbord"...cool Headgear, isn´t it?! :) ), I had her out round Mannheim and the "Sorrows" of Palatinate part of the Rhine flats to give them ole wings a good stretch.

just a tiny detail:

Looks like R-985-AN but shouldn't this be 1340 for the R-1340-AN engine?

New Version 1.2.3 is up, so hopefully the last typos are corrected and I changed the engine to R-1340-AN-1 on the label (Thanks Jens for the finding)

Maybe it will take some time, until the moderators activate the new download.

Great. Thanks. Waiting for the download. I always use the skin when flying around Germany in the T-6.

Look at this long exhaust tube. That was special for the German T-6.
Unfortunately it is not modeled in A2A's Version.
I friend of mine, who flew this bird in real life, told me, that this tube had a greater length , cause the pilots where blended by the flames coming out of the short tube.

That's a different Aircraft Roland, that's a Harvard which has the exhaust like that.

Hi Lewis,
so what do you think of that, what Wikipedia says about the North American T-6
The North American Aviation T-6 Texan is an American single-engined advanced trainer aircraft used to train pilots of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF), United States Navy, Royal Air Force, and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during World War II and into the 1970s. Designed by North American Aviation, the T-6 is known by a variety of designations depending on the model and operating air force. The United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) and USAAF designated it as the AT-6, the United States Navy the SNJ, and British Commonwealth air forces the Harvard, the name by which it is best known outside of the US. Starting in 1948, the new United States Air Force (USAF) designated it the T-6, with the USN following in 1962.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_T-6_Texan
Sounds to me, as it is only the name outside the US for the same Aircraft.

I thought, if we could vary the canopy and antenna etc in the hangar, it would be nice to alter the exhaust too. The Harvard 4 flown by the Bundeswehr was the latest version and indeed not produced by North American. They sold the rights to Canada Car and Foundry after WW2, but actually it was the same aircraft named T-6J Harvard.

Hi Lewis and Roland,

You are both right and you both know it  So many variants of the Texan en Harvard's. Not only exhaust and canopy there different also some small variations in the fuselage.

Personally wished that indeed A2A made some more options to get the looks a bit more like the Harvard.

- Fourth canopy option, square carghold, and extended backside (like the current racer) yet with struts
- Extended exhaust

Still would not be a 100% harvard, yet a lot closer. Then again i'm not complaining, really more than happy with the Texan as it's now.

Regards,

Marcel

Roland the T-6G never had the exhaust system of the Harvard, they are different aircraft the same way a P-51A or B is a different aircraft to the P-51D. This is why our T-6G simulation doesnt have the Harvard exhaust, amongst many other changes internally and externally.

Thanks Lewis

So we don't look to close to the details, otherwise we can't do several paintings. It's OK as it is.
