PA28 elevator trim not working.

Post by captgreg »

Hi all, new forum and FSX SE user here.

I have A2A PA28 whose elevator trim is not working with my Thrustmaster hotas joystick & thrust lever. When I say the trim is not working, I mean the buttons on my controller are not working the trim, not the lever on the A/C ceiling. I have switched to a FSX A/C (Mooney for example) whose buttons work the trim fine, but not on any of the A2A PA28's!

I would appreciate a simple 'how to fix' from anyone please. Thanks in advance.

Hello captgreg - welcome to the forums.

Have you checked the maintenance hangar (shift 7) for a defect to the elevator trim actuator? Red text will indicate a 'broken' part. It should be possible to detect things like missing cotter pins or nuts which will lead to this during the pre-flight inspection (shift 8 ).

If you haven't already, you should also install the latest Accu-Sim update, even for a newly purchased copy of the Cherokee as it contains a few fixes and added features.

Cheers,
Nick

Hi Nick,

Thanks for that, I will have a look into it.

A number of times that has got me: I thought my controllers were at fault and began diagnosing, only to find that the A2A engine had simulated an actual maintenance failure on the plane! Kicked myself!
