It has come together beautifully, Ed. Go back and look at the first posts, when you were roughing in those parts... and you end up with this? Simply brilliant!
Re: P-51D cockpit build
Thank you Jacques!
You are right, it has been quite a long and challenging road. I have learned a lot in the last two years and continue to be humbled and honored by all of the views and comments this project has accumulated. The community here on the A2A forum is the best!
I am still working on the pit but have run into some issues with getting all of the controls set up in FSX. Sometimes it is a hardware or software issue and sometimes it's a goof I made.
I will post more pictures when I have an update. Some have asked for a video of the pit in use and I would like to comply but the only video tool I have is my iPhone. Would someone please suggest how I can make a video with this device?
Thank you all
Ed

Nice work Ed, I'm glad it is all coming together for you. Almost time for some hardcore flying!

Re: P-51D cockpit build
Thanks Darryl!
I'm ready for some flying too but the pit is not cooperating. I get 1 thing fixed and 2 others stop working.
I think your earlier comment about simpits taking almost as much time and maintenance as the real thing is coming true in my case!
Oh, well, as my wife keeps saying, it keeps me busy.
Take care
Ed

Ah Ed... "when you can take this maintenance release from my hand before I close it..you will be ready Grasshopper"
Re: P-51D cockpit build
Yep on the maintenance. Finally making some (little) progress with FSUIPC on axis setup.

How did you come up with measurements and drawings or was it done DIY?? Measurements would be nice.

Hello Ed,
First of all I admire your work on the simulator, you did a superb job. Actually, you are the reason I bought the P51D as well to turn it into a simpit. I used to work on a DC3 cockpit, but this project became to big for the small space we have in the room. I'm not going to make an exact replica of what you made, but on a smaller scale.
I want to know a little more about Air Manager, how does this work, and how did you extract te gauges from the virtual cockpit to the secondairy screen?
Hope to hear from you,
Greetings, Jeroen.

Any landing you can walk away from is a good one!
