Re: AVIATION ART IN ACTION
the prototype lightnings are pretty cool too, in fact everything in the room where the 188 is housed is stunning!

Cheers Will , this was a painting done when one asked, well said would love to see an A-10 , he's Mexican/US and was in the USAF, married a New Zealand girl and now lives here, a bunch of guys and gals sit in a bar 'Joe's Cafe' after work, a good dozen or so, on my return from a bottle store just further along , I've always brought this brand called 'ICE' beer, from the bar on carrying my carton they notice the label , then coming back on the return I get this cheering and THUMBUPS yelling "ICEMAN ", after a few months with that , I had to introduce myself and took my art portfolio , this is were I promised a Warthog .
Yes it is watercolour, the final painting is very multi-media it starts with a pencil line drawing and then watercolour painted , then using a variety of colour pencils and back to graphite pencil and some ink, when happy with that I then scan it and get one printed , I then go back to work on it drawing in and editing details , scan it again then add other details again edit or change areas on PC , shown above is the final result.

Superb artwork on that A-10! I was stationed at Suwon, S. Korea with a few A-10's. They were so new that I didn't have much work for the year that I was there. The avionics shop was next door run by civilians. They would do all the testing while the airmen removed and install the avionics packages. Same year that the F-20 Tigersharks were flying demo flights for the S. Korean Air force. Unfortunately I saw the one that crashed. It stalled inverted at low altitude and crashed inverted intact.

Thanks Ted , I was going to load the thing with weapons when first sketching it out, but decided to go empty and add the secondary theme , battlefield training ground scenario, CRIKEY a F-20 , even ole Chuck Yeager gave them a huge thumbs up.
Re: AVIATION ART IN ACTION
Here's a video of the Tigershark crash at Suwon. What you don't see is before stall the flaps and landing gear were extended while he was doing a roll. It started to flutter like in the video and he retract the landing gear. He did eject but being inverted... well not good.

Ooo CRAP .. that dose not look good , I recall that on the news here even in the NZ.
Re: AVIATION ART IN ACTION
There was one incident that the A-10A lost brakes and the pilot pulled the wrong handle. Had to install a new canopy. The handles are identical and the confusion was there placement in the cockpit.

I wonder if the colour combination was changed or increased pilot training to explain the correct handles.

Lewis, I guess what I was looking for, when in get the third print done after editing I showed and differences as it gradually formed , print .. redraw...print .. redraw ...print .. redraw, they could see the affect and how it grew, Good thing is continuously going to this shop only 400 meters away from me, they also have new scanners and a only in CHCH , a printer with results that are better again, 'Fingers Crossed' I may score some work from them as now seeing my skill set.

Re: AVIATION ART IN ACTION
I was asked to colourise and redo the "THE PHANTOM - BIRD ON A WIRE" , still a little messy but the result is showing some dividends, a mixture of Adobe CS5.5 and water colour and water colour pencil, the original drawing done three and half years back in pencil and black inks.
