Just had a glorious convoy LW mission with 2 planes lost and 14 RAF planes shot down. Now spending my friday evening with some good whiskey and aviation related movies.

The enjoyment brought into mind the fact that I found this simulator somewhat by chance, and I was looking! So considering the fact that minus the graphics and online play, this is atm the best WW2 simulator there is, why is it so hard to find? Looking at just the forums in my country it doesn't seem like anyone knows anything about BOB2. As a player it doesn't matter, but I'm also thinking that the more widely known the simulator is, the more people will volunteer to take it to the next level. So why doesn't BOB2 WOV have a facebook page for example? A2A has one, and it's a joy to "like" because they have frequent updated linking to the forum topics. Wouldn't something like this benefit BOB2 also?

I think the game could use some PR!

Good idea. We just need a volunteer who also has the skill and knowledge to creat and maintain a face book page.

Maybe Heinkill could do it as it would go with his web site data.

Hell, I'll volunteer for work like that any time if Heinkill doesn't have time. Facebook page takes about 5 minutes to create but it needs regular updating. So it requires communication with BDG team and the community.

Sounds good to me. I know nothing about facebook whatsoever.
As an ancient veteran of computer wars, going back to the days
when I would carry stacks of Hollerith cards across campus, I
have several biases; one is to always adopt late, and only if necessary,
and another is to go open source and ungated fully public whenever
possible. Facebook loses on all those counts for me, so I am blissfully
free of its influence.

I found BoBII when I was looking for some Cliffs of Dover videos on YouTube. Someone posted a video to show the improvements with update 2.11 and after enquiring whether the BoBII would run on Windows 7 I purchased it; I have not played Cliffs of Dover since!

A great sim for AU$20; instant download; no need to join Steam; great forum support.

So some more YouTube videos would add to the PR exposure I suggest.

This is very true. They just need to be videos underlining the strengths of the simulation because in eye candy it can't compete with COD. Maybe some coordinate effort to show the superiority of the campaign and Buddye's AI would do the trick. I would love to have the kind of spoken introduction videos that A2A has for their new planes for the beauty of BOB2. It certainly has beauty to introduce!

It would be great if you could set up a fbook site creepy. There are many many videos I and others have done on Youtube which we can feature, and other stuff. We can link to forum posts, highlight 2.12 news etc. Go for it!

The facebook page exists now, so I'd like the BDG members who have facebook pages to send me a private message with their information so I can invite them and add them as administrators of the page!

"Let's Play..." videos seem fairly popular on Youtube, perhaps if someone wanted to "Let's Play" a Single Player Campaign this would be an ideal way to highlight both the immersion, the "it happened once and never again" aspect of the sim's variability, and especially Buddye's AI. Without a BoB capable PC I'm out but it would be an idea for someone else.

Or the Commander Campaign also, we don't necessarily have to limit it to the SPC.
