Posting here just so Scott and Lewis and co are aware there is still an issue, instead of it getting buried in trivia about completely unrelated stuff,

Yeah, sorry, I guess we got a little carried away. Comaraderie and all, you know...Sorry the suggestion for the totally clean install didn't work out and populate your Wos377/Sound directory with fresh .wav files. Looks like your problems are at the system level then, directory permissions and the like. I guess Scott is your last remaining hope now.

Try to understand. He's a Magic Man

(Allright, I'm out of this thread for good now)

Not going to get lost in any banter because it has been posted in development...but my apologies.

Hello,

Can you please provide your system specs inc your onboard sound specs + check your onboard sound drivers are up to date. When you are running onboard you will want ot make sure no ASUS sound software is running which might interfere.

thanks,
Lewis

I have the exact same problem with my B377 COTS.
Only sound cfg. and WOS_377_gear_down wav file that's it.
Also have reinstalled as admin. no diff. have you found a solution yet or found where the rest of the wav files are?

Have you tried a reinstalled making sure you run the install as administrator (win 7 = right click and select 'run as administrator)

Ive asked Scott to look at the installers, however Ive now tested this multiple times on my system with complete clean FSX installs from nothing to FSX, Acceleration + COTS and all worked ok each time so I dont htink its an installer issue.

This should not be related to COTS.

I would uninstall COTS and the 377, then manually remove the aircraft directory.

Then, JUST install the WoP3 377 and check your sound folder. All of the sounds should be installed.

If not, then I would suspect some kind of anti-virus program.

Scott.

I will jump in here as I ran into the same problem ...

I have set up my system and found in my addon backups three files:
wos_b377.EXE
wos_b377_v2_full.EXE
wos_b377_cots_1.1_update.EXE

So, I thought "wos_b377_v2_full" is surely the complete package and haven't installed "wos_b377", just "full".
(and "update" afterwards)

Everything went fine, no complaint from the installer.

First flight, addon was loading, everything was working, but also no sound from the engines!
I had also no WAV files in the sound folder (just one)

Reinstalling all 3 (!) files cured it! :!:
