Well, uninstalled this one today. Got tired of flaky Accusim effects cycling on and off mostly. Sometimes the engines would start correctly, sometimes they'd simply start without priming or would even keep turning irregardless of the starter being engaged; almost like the engines 'thought' they were windmilling in the air instead of being stationary on the ground. Tried to baby Accusim by doing everything exactly right, but nope, not going to happen.

Trash can.

Hey, the Accusim Piper Cub still works! The only one I haven't deleted yet, haha.

Hello,

Did you try troubleshooting, making sure you had installed the updates etc? As you can tell from the forums, your experience isnt normal.

thanks,
Lewis

I see plenty of posts in the P-51 and P-40 forums with you participating in help with the airplanes, yet this is your very first post in the B-17 forum. I find it very rude to make your first post in this forum to unceremoniously announce that you've deleted it off your computer without as much as one statement that you're experiencing problems. That is a disservice to you, to the Accusim team, and to the community as a whole because you not only hurt your own reputation on the forum, but the reputation of the product for anyone new who comes in here and the first thing they see is a topic saying you've deleted it.

Yes, you are right CAPFlyer; no arguments from me here. People like me don't have the patience needed to work through the technical challenges that are inherent in desktop simulation. Anyhow, I sincerely apologize for that post, both to you and A2A. It was uncalled for and totally out of line.

Ima go crash my RC planes and throw a tantrum on at the model flying field now.

Lewis,

Thank you. Actually yes, I've tried just about everything. I just do not have the patience to deal with all the things that go wrong with Accusim aircraft on my particular installation. Accufeel doesn't save settings correctly with other non-accusim aircraft, and I've a feeling that the .dat file with the B-17 gets corrupted on a regular basis for perhaps the same reason. When this happens, the engine start sequence get totally whacked and things go downhill from there.

I spend about 4 hours troubleshooting for every one hour flying and it's just not worth it for me. The Accusim B-17 has always behaved this way on my computer system ever since it was first released, even through multiple re installs of everything. A lot of things go wrong, not just the engine start behavior. Sometimes the copilot fails to make call outs during takeoff, etc. Things happen pretty randomly, but rarely as they are supposed to. I haven't posted with my myriad problems before because I simply gave up a long time ago.

This is my last post here and again, I'm sorry for going off like I did earlier. To be honest I loathe FSX in general for all of it's shortcomings and problems. Have a nice evening.

Occassionally, whilst searching for a solution to a problem I've encountered with other software; my search may yield forum posts on the matter, and the instigator will share their troubleshooting, even if it's unsuccessful, which can be a great help in trouble-shooting.

Yet it can be very frustrating to encounter the rare threads that offer nothing more than an unhelpful dead-end, I appreciate we all have finite time to spread across our commitments, but I do wish more people would - whilst already taking the time to open the thread - share a little of their trials, failed or not.

The reason I write this, is that unfortunately it can appear to be little more than a venting of frustration, rather than sharing a problem; whether or not it was intended to be read that way.

Even though you've removed the aircraft, others encountering a similar problem may happen across this thread.

I present this in a light-hearted, friendly way, with a sincere smile.

May the skies favour your flight,

John.

Well I can only say that you must have a conflict within your PC I am coming up to 800 hrs on the B-17 with none of the problems that you are experiencing with Accusim. I am now on my 2nd set of engines, the 1st made it to 480hrs before they had to be replaced

Just a word of warning though,PC issues will almost certainly come around to bite you in the ass. Its worth troubleshooting and solving the issues, as the issues from your description certainly are not FSX speicific. Worth getting it sorted before it gets any worse. :?
