If I press Shift+1 which brings up the map and radio's, my pc grinds to a halt. Also if I finially get to reset the flight I get a "simconnect failed to start"

I use Windows 7 64bit

i7 3930K intel CPU
16GB RAM
Gigabyte ATI 7970

Thanks

Ben

Hi Ben,

First of all: SHIFT-1 is not a valid keystroke combination for any of the 2D panels.

The valid combo's are:

SHIFT-2 : Pilot's Notes
SHIFT-3 : Controls
SHIFT-4 : Payload & Fuel Manager
SHIFT-5 : Navigation
SHIFT-6 : Radios
SHIFT-7 : Maintenance Hangar

Nevertheless I can't reproduce this failure on my end. the screen admittently flickers briefly when using SHIFT-1 for the first time. Thereafter nothing happens anymore and no further problems are showing up.

Hi

Okay I did a little testing and it is not A2A's excellent F51.

What I did was load about 20 different aeroplanes and found that if I selected Shift+1 there was an immediate performance drop anywhere from 15% to 99% depending on the plane selected.
The general performance with the F51 is crazy(Good!) considering the detail, but as soon as I press Shift+1 I get maybe 1 frame per 10 seconds

Any ideas? I run in DX9 mode. Would this be a factor?

Ben
