This is a mission set I would LOVE to be able to do in BOBII (one day...) if we ever get the mission builder fixed.

Had great fun doing it in Cliffs of Dover, but imagine what you could achieve in a sim that has great AI?

We can dream!

heinkill,
Looks very enjoyable, judging by the interesting screenshots. Obviously a lot of work there! Should be quite a spectacle. 8) Much larger than the BoB2 version. How does the gameplay compare? Is CoD handling an "epic" scale of action alright these days, or do you have to cut back a bit on plane numbers ?
(And yes, it would be nice if mission building were a regular feature for this old girl as well ! :) )

No, certainly the number of aircraft you can put in the missions is limited. On my medium spec gaming machine (i7, 4gb ram, 2gb gfx card) I can manage medium to high settings with furballs of aroubd 25-30 kites. Cranking it up higher gives me a huge drop in fps.

BUT that is also because the epic part is that you can script land units too. In all these missions there is a land war going on below. Tanks, convoys, trains, trucks, advancing, attacking, defending, retreating, exploding...gives an extra sense of immersion.

That said, the AI in cod is...excrement.

When I want a real offline dogfight I always crank up BoB2. Like last night. Quick 9 vs 9. Fifteen minutes of white knuckle hell!
