I've noticed something that's ticking me off. Why is it that if my squadron (610) or any other for that matter, does a patrol across the channel to the French coast, every flack gun in the country seems to be aimed at ME? I don't seem to see flackbursts around the rest of the squadron, but rather I only see them in my rear view mirror. It's only a matter of time until I get blasted!

You can turn it off in the bdg text file settings.

But fear not... The flak over France is actually just for effect. It doesnt bite.

We do not have the real German guns working like they do in England. Just added to help the player feel the effect. The game was not designed to raid German airfields during the BOB.

Sorry if you did not understand. Check the BDG value in the User manual and see if that helps.

Special effects or not, these guns are shooting me down! I can fly with my formation for a stretch while the flack barrage continues, but sooner or later my cockpit view turns red, and the AC shudders out of control. I can bail out, so no biggie there. I just pretend I escape back across the channel to fight another day :D

Yes, the flak can kill if close enough (10 meters , Ithink). but it is rare in my experience.

11 meters. This is user adjustable in the bdg text file.

Strange! Because usually a few RAF fighters give chase to me and my squadron mates all the way to our home base in France, they even strafe us during and after we land and yet, no flack fires back to discourage the intruders. :shock:

In the BDG.txt I have:
Do_You_Want_Flak_Over_France=ON
Do_You_Want_Flak_And_AAA_Fire_if_Friendly_within_1000_Meters=ON

And yet the RAF wreaks havoc over our bases in France with impunity.

Cheers. :mrgreen:

Because the German guns can not work (they need to be placed using a Rowan placement method that we do not completely understand), you will see no AAA from German guns. The effect as implemented will only target the players A/C (so the Player must be RAF). I implemented the effect as I thought some RAF palyers might like it but I think now that my judgement was a mistake.

You can turn it off with a Bdg.txt switch:

Do_You_Want_Flak_Over_France=OFF

Wouldn't it be cool if you could be an AA gunner in this game? Some button switches you to your home airfield's AA gun system and another button switches between the AA guns? 1st person view from gunner's perspective of course!
