I am not able to set the altimeter to any pressure from the cockpit. How do you do it ? I understand you can get your QNH from the elevation of your departure airfield, and then I suppose, reset it during flight with the magic "B" key... But that's not real world; I just do not understand this gauge, help please...!!

As a note from a current Cub jock (L18c), I find it strange that this particular model was fitted with such altimeter (graduated to 10,000' but imprecise at low altitudes!) especially in view of the absence of a VSI (and naturally, an horizon.) Mine is fitted a with a standard altimeter graduated in HPa (Europe) and also with a VSI so that I can have more control on my attitude bad Wx conditions. :!:

Still, great great sim... At least I can loop and spin this one ! Thanks A2A.

The altimeter in the Cub is the correct one for the aircraft. The altimeter was designed by Taylor back in 1931. It has no Kollsman window. The instrument has a single rotating knob so you can set in the airport field elevation which is as good as it gets for these period instruments.
The J3 was never intended to be flown in anything but VFR weather.

.. and, Dozzy, we are talking about a J3, not a later L18. A Twingo is better equipped than an early 4L
