Here she is everyone.
The planes of Fame P-40, Changes made is the star and red dot Motiff, and the choice of the red nose cone or the OD cone.....
I cannot take credit for this paint. I had so much trouble getting the new paint to go into the file.....So with the help of another simmer who did the paint for me, working from my desires for the paint....
The star and red dot is in keeping with the early model P-40....

Thx Flameout.
But like i said in the post. This is not my paint. So i can not take credit for it. The painter just followed my requests for how i would like the plane to look.
Chinos P-40 is an N model, and its paint is bright and shiney, as this one is weathered, The planes of fame P-40 did use both colors of the nose cone, Curently it has the red.
And sports the later ensigina used on American aircraft.
Chino's P-40 was originally assigned to the Canadian airforce, and is credited with shuting down a Japanesse incendary baloon over the U.S. aside from that it was used for patroling Canada and Northern U.S states. And was flown under the Canadian banner.

The last two photos, and for which the repaint replicates, is actually Tony Banta's P-40E. (POF owns a P-40N (as I believe is actually pictured in the first photo posted), but it is now finished in a 325th FG scheme).

The lines of the nose of the P-40B/C do not lend well to the markings adorned in this location on later-models, and vice-versa, though you did handle this one rather nicely!

True the first pict is Chino's P-40N. The other picts are of Tonys P-40E model.Which is stored at the POF hanger alot of the time.the POF's Chino Facility P-40 is a trainer model. And they have one at the Grand Canyon facility, which is an N model also. The Grand Canyon P-40 and Tonys P-40 are almost Identical in the paint, right down to the shark tooth mouth.gradyhappyg wrote:Ah yes the old never assume anything saying comes into play here as after looking at the photos from the gallery below labled Chinos P40s I assumed these were all Chino owned LOL!
