I've been looking for, but have not yet been able to find the process for turning the pilot figure on and off. I've seen screenshots with an empty cockpit and would like to know how to do that.

Thank you

I found the answer to my own question while waiting.

If you press Shift+3 the dialog window for "Controls" opens. Press "Cold Start" and the pilot figure will disappear.

You can also press the button marked "Hold Tail Down" and two ground crew appear. Having made ground crew for another product I have an appreciation for the work that went into this feature. The attention to detail in having the tail lower as the ground crew holds the tail down is a really nice touch. I hope folks take the time to notice that the figures are animated as well.

Good work.

Manual found under your start menu and is a must read for correct use of the product.

I've done several different word searches through the PDF manual supplied, and there is no mention of being able to turn the pilot figure on and off.

You say the manual is under the "start" menu. There is no "start" menu in the model I have installed. I do not have the accu-sim add-on.

There is only one manual, not manuals, in my installation, and it only mentions the cold-start button once, on p90, and it gives no description as to what the cold-start status is or that it turns the visibility of the pilot figure off. Doing a word search in the pdf file for the words; pilot, figure, visibility, on, off produces no results either. A person could RTFM till the cows came home and they wouldn't find the answer to my original question. If this feature is documented, it's pretty well hidden.

G'day,

The answer to your question (sort of) is right there. Even though the Spit is a perfectly good "ad on" plane in its own right, it really is designed to be flown with the Accusim add on as well. Hence you may find that some things are not covered in the basic manual but in the Accusim one.

It is kind of assumed that if you are a "basic" user, some of the more "unusual" features will not be used/of use. I have been using FS since "3" and have never thought of "turning a pilot off". Even if you use more than just the "basics" the non accusim model is great...but I guess there may be some features that are "undocumented" as they appear in the other package. I'll raise it in Beta.
