And...

Welcome to BOBII and the BOBII forums and community.

Most of the BOBII setup, performance, and problem information is on the sticky threads on the Technical forum. We may be able to help with you specific problems, concerns, and issues and love to help new BOBII pilots.

We hope you enjoy BOBII or "Time Machine" as like to call it.

thank you Buddye, for the informative threads, you have answered all my initial questions already about order of patches, add ons, initial settings and how to focus in our training up and start.

I have studied a number of flight sims over the past years, CFS, CFS2, CFS3, MS FS2002, FS9, FSX among them and worked on and helps with some mods....as well as sims in other realms: naval, subsurface, and others. I ended up with family heritage on both sides from the service arms ... I wanted to try to experience and learn some of what they all faced and served with. It is remarkable what this computer revolution has allowed us to see and feel, and I am so grateful to the developers who have worked on this and the amazing community efforts to improve, and expand what that began.

I have a AMD system, Processor: running XP Pro SP3
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 FX-55 Processor, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.6GHz
Memory: 2560MB RAM
Page File: 989MB used, 3456MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT Card with Display Memory: 1024.0 MB
SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio [A000] Snd Card,

I can Run FSX on high settings except for some of the most dense scenery...so I hope to be able to manage the 2.11 update but welcome input in that from the experienced members here.

I will work on the install and set up tonight, I have all the patches from 2.01 on up but understand we only need 2.11 and the Multi skins for current best load.

My interest in 3D worlds and sims partly also came from my work as a professional Artist, which I have been for some 40 years, a painter mostly of landscapes ....i began to think some ten years ago that we might be moving into 3D and digital for making art so i started studying games and 3D world making and found a lot to study and research..and am still doing it.

RE the Battle of Britain, I spent some years in the UK back in the 70s, and explored many of the historic areas... from Dover north, I was at Oxford so i was able to get all over the place and even had a school mate whose father was Estate Manager of Bletchley Park, now THAT was a fascinating place to see.... so i love the chance to see England in this remarkable era, and the detail that BOB II achieves appears to be some of the best possible, so i am very intrigued to learn and gain experience here.

I will start on my set up and proceed ....thanks again for the amazing forum here and the work you all have done, so much appreciated. and Thanks for the welcome in.

it will be wonderful to have a chance to start the learning curve here, and will lend a hand as I can as i gain more understanding and get the "feel" of things. Above all it is a wonderful chance to honour the courageous duty and service given by men of both sides in that time and who faced so many challenges unflinchingly. Thank to all of you for helping make this possible.

Cheers

Chris

Ah, then I suppose you've already encountered this site:

Tochy is I think the gold standard for warbird cgi art. His creations have only recently been
rivalled in the newest retail products, more than a decade after he posted his first artworks.
