Ive taken a break from FSX cuz of school and work but now that im finally having time to fly again my spitfire wont work. Ill start a flight and the plan wont start up so i went to the maintenence hangar only to find out that everything was red, so i tryed clicking on them to repair and notheing happened! :x i then decided that maybe reinstalling it may help the problema nd it still didnt work. so i uninstalled fsx then reinstalled it and tryed again and still didnt work. question is, do you need fsuipc to run accu sim? ive tryed to install it multiple time and it says simconnect error, not installed correctly. ive trued everything that i can and ive gotten no luck. can you guys help me?

Ok, first but obvious question..you did buy Accusim as well?? Not just the WOP3 Spitfire. The Accusim pack is separate but can be bought as a bundle.

Assuming you have...check that you have FSX with SP1 up to SP2 installed (or FSX and Acceleration).

If you have Vista or Win7, make sure you right click and hit "Run as Administrator"

Next delete the Spitfire files manually (including the data files in the My Documents folder) and reinsatll as above THEN before you do anything, load up a default plane and start the engine to make sure it is working....then turn everything off ie "cold and dark" THEN check that automixture is deselected in the otpions menu and that all aircraft realism sliders are full right. ...and only then..go to the top menu bar and choose aircraft..pick one of the Spitfires and try to start it up.

Hope that solves your problem!

regards

Darryl

Please don't take this the wrong way, but have you taken the time to read the manuals? I know that sometimes it is difficult to take the time to read all the fine print when what you really want to do is fly your bright new shinny toy. I don't have my gamming PC hooked up at the moment, so I can not be of much help here, but I do know you really need to read your manuals to get this bird to fly right. Have you tried a complete engine overhaul, that might solve the problem. Have you tried loading up one of the other available Spitfires that came with your Accu-Sim package? No matter what you do, don't give up, this is one of the sweetest airplanes I have ever flown in a simulation, possible in real life as well.

Bramage,

Persistent aircraft mean that if it is broken it will stay broken...it really sounds to me like you are not deleting the aircraft data files...the ones in "My Documents" ... you need to do this not JUST the files within FSX directory itself...are you sure you have done this??

My logic is that if the aircraft is "broken" and at the same time the installation has not worked properly and the Overhaul won't work..then NEXT time you install you should not get exactly the same problems (if it is just a faulty install)...but what sounds to me like it is happening is that you are just reinsatlling the "software" but leaving broken aircraft logs in the other place...the "uninstall" option and similar in Windows will NOT remove those dat files from memory, you must do that manually. They are under C:/MyDocuments/A2A/Spitfire or similar.

Please confirm? And don't worry mate, we'll get you going again one way or another!

regards

Darryl

The mosty common error in such a situation is either a corupt installation and or an un-updated FSX.

A computer crash doesnt require a fix, as the pc restarts so can you please re-word and let us know how your computer stopped working and exactly what fix you did. In any case a complete re-install of FSX would be recommended if extensive repair work was required.

FSX + SP2 is required for the spitfire and most addons of the last few years, please make sure your FSX is updated to SP2 and all your settings are as per the manual. Depending on the problem to your PC, ie was it a nasty virus? then simconnect or even the Windows install in general could be totally kaputt requiring a re-install.

I got a new pc fr Xmas and we tried to put my old hardsrive onto the computer but for some reason it didn't want to load over so my dad tried everything (he dies this kind of stuff for the navy) and he couldn't get it so just started it over. I've deleted everything even in the my documents folder and fsx. I've reinstalled fsx with acceleration as well and it still doesn't work. I tried installing fsuipc so I could use fs passengers and it said there was a sinfulness error

Well gentlemen, I FIXED IT! and man does it feel good to fly this beautiful machine again. The problem was that simconnect didn't install correctly. I went into the windows folder and found the winsxs folder which then led to the simconnect folder. Sure enough that folder was empty so I deleted it. Did the fsx repair and then simconnect.all was there so I installed fsuipc and the simconnect files worked. So finally I'm flying this plane again and I have fallen in love again! Thanks guys for the support. Can't wait to purchase the upcoming projects, btw Lewis. In pungo, Virginia we have the military aviation museum. It's one of the largest collections of restored and flys le world war two aircraft. The recently just received the b17 chuckie. I think the people there would love to help with further projects that you guys are doing. It definitely is an amazing place to visit. Militaryaviationmuseum.org But thanks for the help guys!

Just checked out the website- some links don't work, but overall it looks like a great collection I never knew of... The WWI show is my birthday weekend, it might be fun! The pages didn't load up, but I wonder which aircraft will be different to Rhinebeck?

Also, glad you got the Spitfire up and running again- I just recently had a hard drive failiure too, but was lucky enough to reinstall with no issues...

Joe
