Will someone that has this please tell me if the Navigator is independent and can do all navigation and radio? I looked at the manual but still not sure if is is something the captain still does or if there is a navigator.

No auto-navigator  but he does list more information in his notes that you can view. Also his map has more power. There's still something to do for the Captain of the Ship ! Maybe you thought of a virtual navigator aka FMS  ?

VN (virtual navigator) will give you crosswind info and other information on the map view that is needed for navigation, but you will need to tune radios (he can't reach them  )

Do I need SP1 if I just purchased the 377 + COTS? I think the answer is no, but want to make sure.

Reminds me of my wife where ever she is.

I am really dumb on navigation and had hoped this would help me out. I have read all I can and even had a buddy over that flys comercially trying to help me with it. He tried but just does not sink in.

Just a heads up: be aware that installing the COTS package resets your airframe and engine hours. I'm not sure if they could be backed up and used with the package after the installation. Some parameters might have been changed in or added to the data files.

Ok. I am having intall issues. I am running FSX SP2, Windows 7 64bit.

I purchased the bundle 377 + full COTS.

I was able to install the 377 plus the hot fix patch.

When I try to install COTS, I get the following error message at the end of install.

Windows cannot find
C:PROGRA~2/MICORS~1/MICROS~1/A2A/Shared/A2AServiceinstaller.exe

I click ok

I get this error: Could not execute the external program A2AServicesinstaller.exe.

Tryed to install and uninstall twice.

Do I need SP1 with the bundle purchase?

I just noticed that the 377 is not showing-up in FSX after a restart.

Thanks.

Installation order:

B-377
SP1
Hotfix (if running FSX SP2, if running FSX acceleration, not needed)
CotS

I have also noticed the "missing" airframe hours and engine status. It seems that COTS creates a new location for the 377log.dat files. And you can´t copy your "old one" to this location, it´s simply ignores the file and automatically renames it to 377log.dat.bak3 or something similar. If you try to load a previous flight using your old log file, your maintenance hangar is simply unavailable when you´re up in the air. You get the option to turn off career mode in order to be able to see it again but it resets the airframe hours regardless.

Suggestions would be welcome.

btw, I also get the error A2AServiceInstaller.exe missing for some reason, everything else seems to be working though....more or less ;-)

Did you purchase the upgrade, or the full version?
