i just purchased the B17 and Accusim Package and eveyrthing looks great, except for that I overrun each runway in 9 out of 10 times. I looked into the matter and noticed a problem with the braking.
first my setup:
i use the saitek rudders for years w/o any problems (including the a2a cub and spitefire). of course i use differential braking on the left and right pedal individually and usually when i press both pedals the normal braking kicks in. but not on the b-17. differential braking works great, but not the normal one. for example, hold down the right pedal - right differential braking. then i add pressure on the left pedal - in my cub now normal braking applies - but in my b-17 both braking pedals come up and i have zero braking (the red brake-message of fsx disappears)... normal braking works nice when i press the "."-key on the keyboard. btw, hydraulic pressure is in the green arc.

i hope i could explain my problem clearly. am i doing anything wrong or is there any other problem involved?

Your explanation was perfectly understandable to those who have had the problem.

First, if you are using FSUIPC, like I am, that's where I found my problem. I don't have a PC anymore, so can't physically check for you. I'm trying to remember what I did, and I can't exactly. It was either calibration, or the "reverse" check box. I had a conflict somewhere but can't remember where.

First check the B-17 configurator to see if brakes are set up in there, then check FSX controls pane. If you have FSUIPC check that too. Calibrate in ONE area only, either FSX or FSUIPC. And also check the reverse control check boxes in each area. I'm pretty sure something is out there somewhere.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but if you look in those areas, I'm sure you'll sort it out.

If you are just using the FSX set up panel you need to put ticks in the boxes I use the saitek rudders allso

I use FSUIPC (registered) for setting up my controls. I tried all morning setting it up in FSUIPC or FSX (just as in your picture above), no luck... I checked again all other payware aircraft - no problem, except for my spitfire (however not in the Cub!), even though I never really noticed it there. I thought using the whole runway for braking would be normal... I'm really close on giving up...

Sorry but I couldn't find a box or option for the brakes in the B17 joystick configurator...

Did you tick (or un-tick) the reverse box in FSUIPC? I had the same problem with the Spit too. As a test/check, in the B-17 with your feet off the rudder pedals, does the word "Brakes" appear in the usual place on screen? If it does, then it's definitely a "reverse" issue. With my feet off the rudder pedals the brakes were ON, and when I pushed the pedals the brakes went OFF, reversing the axis sorted it out. The more I think of it, the more sure I am. I believe I used the "Aircraft specific" option in FSUIPC, but can't be sure as I used that for many, many aircraft.

I got it solved. It appears that you must not set the brakes with FSUIPC at all! Only in the normal settings of FSX! Kind of strange since all other planes work well with FSUIPC...

So glad you got it fixed. Now you can go enjoy your landings without the worry of overshooting

Really sorry I couldn't be more specific, if I still had a PC to look at the settings, you would've got it sorted days ago. But alas mine broke and I don't fly anymore. I'll replace it one day though Good luck with this great bird.

I was going to suggest that you check your hydraulic fluid levels!
