Hi everybody! First of all, I'd like to express my respect and gratitude to each member of the team who created this... "no words to describe it"... art masterpiece. I have to confess that this is the best addon I have ever seen in my 16 years of FS life.
I have a little problem though, most probably due to a missing/corrupted font. If anyone in this forum can point me to the right direction to solve it, I'd highly appreciate it. Here's a picture to illustrate the problem. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestion.

Enrique

Does your problem is limited only to this map panel?

I had a problem with the "hangar" font - and had to turn on type hinting/smoothing in my system to get it to display properly (maybe that ought to be mentioned in the install section of the manual <??>).

Maybe it's the same problem?

Thanks ROB for your reply and kind help. No, I also have it in -Hangar and Payload+Fuel Mgr- panels. The other panels are ok.

@Adam_NZ: Thanks for the hint. I'll try that right now and report back.

Thank you guys! Very much appreciated

I can see - hiding behind, in the hangar panel - that the font that I had trouble with (the script one) looks OK on your system.

Have you altered any default (system) sizes at all?

Adam_NZ: Not that I'm awared of. +/- six months ago I installed a WinXP font package from Adobe. I don't know if it changed, replaced, altered any font/parameter in my system. I never noticed any problem on any of the addons I have though. I tried your solution didn't work for me. I mean, I don't know if I did it in the right way because all I did was to open "Display Properties\Appearance\Effects" and select Clear Type under smoothing mode. Also, I just downloaded/installed the Cleartype utility from Microsoft which activates hinting/smoothing with no avail. It would be good to know the panels call for any default font and, if yes, which font it is so I can replaced in case of a missing/corrupted font. I'll try visiting/digging other forums to see if I find any similar case. Obviously, the problem is on my side :( . I'll keep trying...

Situation report after first gander taken: Two fonts are used there: COURIER and COURIER NEW. Your problem occurs there where the COURIER is used.

Enrique ... you have me intrigued now! What o/s are you on .. XP/Vista/Win7? It looks to me like one of the*sytem/ fonts had changed for some reason. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the only additional font the Spitfire uses is that "hangar" one .. which (interestingly) is the only one that seems to be working properly!!

Perhaps some dev here could tell us which fonts/versions (specifically) are being used in these panels?

From looking at your screen, it really does look like the culprit is "Courier". Maybe you've picked up a non-default MS version along the way - or another (Adobe) version has taken priority. If you have another Windows machine around (with a similar o/s) see if you can compare the versions of Courier on both.

Here's my "copy" of your screengrab ...

EDIT: Drat! I knew I should have refreshed this page before posting!!!

YEEEEESSSSSSSS!!! :D Got it... found the culprit!!!! Everything works fine now. Apparently there was a conflict between 2 courier fonts: COURIER.ttf and coure.fon (default). Some program I have installed this .ttf font. I just deleted it and VOILA!!!

Thank very much guys!!!! Thanks to both of you now I can fully enjoy this treasure of the FS wolrd... THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!!!!!!

God bless you,

Enrique

Wow ... a *result*!!!! Yay!!!

I think ATM (Adobe Type Manager) may have added the .fon version ... though I'm not sure. May be worth Googling around and then checking your system in case it's also made other "improvements".
