This post is for those using "EZCA".
Recently I experienced problems when initializing the Spit (see thread "strange start" in this forum).
It seems EZCA has something to do with it.
Here are my findings:

*when programming external views there is a chance something from EZCA is bugging up the Spit/FSX. I recommend you don't program external views! :(
*be carefull running FSX in full mode. For some reason EZCA might freeze your system. I recommend when exiting the Spit/FSX you make sure you are in windowed mode.

If I observe the above rules I experience no problems on my system.

I always use windowed mode. I had an issue and couldn't do an external view so I made only internal EZCA views. No problems there (using EZCA and TrackIR).
Don't know what the issue is with external views at this point.

Although I use exclusively windowed mode, as I do a lot of multitasking and EZDok has its own window, I have experienced no issues with it in reference to the Spitfire.

it's a real shame that we can't assign external views with the Spit. On the P-47 I have made the most awesome external views with effects that make it look like the wing is flexing in the wind etc.

EZCA's support is non existing, I made a post on their forum on January 30th about the issue. No response so far.

It seems like A2A has made the Spit in a different way than the P-47 and Cub and that change makes it impossible to setup external views with EZCA.

Seen your post. I guess Maniftarr has not purchased the Spit yet. They should and should test and fix whatever issue is there.

As per your P-47 I'd be interested if you care to post your CAM files somewhere (I posted mine on AVSIM, but only internal ones.) Purchased TrackIR since then and am not happy with my currrent P-47 EZCA views now with TrackIR and would like to improve it. Works well with all other planes I've tested.

For my views I use numpad 1-9. I then load a couple of different default aircraft and see what effects I like. I then save the effects and re-load fx. the P-47. I then assign an external view and load the effect for the that view.

Alex, yep I can upload the files (I also have some good Cub views) - where's do I find the files? I can't find them.

I am indeed using a TrackIR. I'm not quite sure what is happening gentlemen. Everything seems to work on my side...?

I use EZCA and external cameras work perfectly fine with the Spit (all the screenshot of my repaints were done with external EZCA cameras). Did you remember to run EZCA's config tool that automatically adds the necessary entries to the aircraft.cfg? You need to run that after installing a new aircraft or it won't work.

Nice it works here after running that tool. I had no idea you had to run that, thanks.
