here's another 322 Sqn paint: Mk.Vb W3127 VL-P 'Soesterberg'

Image

and I've come across persistent rumors that at least one Mk.IIa was flown by a Dutch Pilot.
After a forced landing in Yorkshire, P7981 was struck off charge in late 1941, but seems to have been repaired and 'loaned' by/to Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands for use as his personal plane, until august 1944.
I have no idea if this is true, and I have not found any pictures, but I did find a profile, so this is what it may have looked like:

which gives us "HRH Prince Bernhard visiting No.322 (Dutch) Squadron":

you can now find them on OZx, and later at Avsim, happy flying, and if you like them, post the odd screenshot?

Great work! I like the little more wheathered Look.
I took her for a flight in Australia with real Wheather. The Fact that the OAT was 28C made the Flight a real Challenge.
I managed the Climb without boiling the Engine with 2/3 Radiator open, 2400-2300 RPM and -1 to 0 PSI Manifold Pressure.
Climbrate was of course pretty slow, about 700 fpm. But once crossing 15000ft everything normalizes. After that Flight the Mechanic
had nothing to report. She is still in beautiful Shape. I think flying in hot Wheather is a good Training for the Pilot.
Here some Screenshots:

Jan Kees,

Geweldig mooi! (Well done indeed!)

one question.. You mentioned Soesterberg. What is the scenery you used for the line up of the three Spits? Some early Dutch field? Still looking for a good and early after war Soesterberg-scenery.

Regards,

Jan

No, Soesterberg is the name of the aircraft (on the nose, above the orange triangle), the airfield is Tamworth, by FTX

My bad Jan Kees,

overlooked it! none the less, going to download it. Always nice to have a Dutchie in the collection. You're going to do the Jan Flinterman as well by any chance? My dad served with him after the war...

Jan Kees,

VL-P had the name Prinses Beatrix and was flown by Jan Plesman...

I can't find the last bit of the registration of Jan Flinterman. first of course is #W :-)

the spit with the nose art Polly would be a great addition too!

cheers,

Jan

Jc question about you sqn codes on the left hand off the aircraft for vl-p and vl-a I'm not 100% sure but it looks like you might have a slight mistake on both
this link is for vl-p BM515 and not W3127 but as you can see the p on the left side is under the cockpit window http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgur ... 4AaSz4GoCQ
also this is the only thing i can find on VL-A but again same thing the a is under the cockpit window on the left side
Image
just thought i would help you out as you pointed out my mistake on D-B TANGMERE SQN

ouch, it seems you're right!

OK, back to the drawing board. There's something odd about W3127 anyway, according to some sites she never flew with the 322, according to others she did...

I'd better change it to BM 515, Plesman's VL-P "Prinses Beatrix" I think...though that one also goes by MK515 occasionally...
and VL-A looks like AA957 in your pic. Why can't things be simple occasionally...
