First try the ATI route, it's harmless and quick and easy. Set adaptive antialiasing (sorry, I can't spell this properly) to off or standard; at least try the lowest setting for this. If this doesn't work try catalyst ai, and if that doesn't work then I really do not know...:P

CFP,

HM! We are a little uptight. I've just had a RE read through all of your postings on this topic. In each one we glean a little more information. I see from your May 13 at 8.42 PM that you seem to be an avid over clocker. I also see from the same posting that your windows installation seems to get corrupted regularly on this machine. As you are an avid over clocker, I hope you know, to back off your over clocking speeds. Till windows becomes stable again.

As far as the transparent cockpit is concerned. I had this myself once with Win7 and I cannot for the life of me. Remember what I did to correct it. I cannot remember whether it was a compatibility problem or a catalyst control Center problem. Or for that matter, a direct X problem.

So what I'm going to suggest. You may not be happy with, but the decision is yours. I would first of all put all your over clocking back to defaults. Then make sure windows is running stable. Then RE download 2.10. Just incase your current version has become corrupt through windows instability. I would then remove battle of Britain two and completely delete the directory. Then reinstall battle of Britain two with your original CD. Then reinstall 2.10 and let it update your direct X when prompted. Do not try to update your direct X manually, as it will not update correctly. Also do not start over clocking unto you have bob two running correctly.

Do follow this procedure to the letter, as from memory, the only time we had this problem including my own. It was sofware settings related. I'm not going to say that this will cure your problem. But it will give us a known base to work from. I very much doubt whether chopping and changing your hardware is going to make any difference other than the speed that your machine will run at. So I would set up your machine with the best components that will run at a default setting at the fastest speed that the components will allow. Without over clocking.

Please let us know what you have done and how you have got on.

Did you get an answer to your problem yet?

So far, no reply to his problem. So whether he got it to work or not I do not know.

hi everyone!

new to this forum but it has been extremely productive! i too was suffering from the OP's issue but i can confirm that anyone suffering from the phantom aircraft/ground objects/cockpits can fix this by disabling the adaptive antialiasing in the catalyst control center :D

im running on a sempron 145, ecs mcp61m-m3 mobo, radeon 4850 512mb gfx, 2x2gb pny ddr3, win7 ultimate 64bit and all is well.

would just like to say a big thanx to all at the bdg for making this sim above and beyond its original incarnation - i love il-2 but immersion-wise and for atmosphere, this is so much better.

cheers everyone

Yes, sorry to hear it isn't working for you cfp. If you come back we will still try to help. We usually can. And we don't like unhappy BoB customers (even tho we personally see not a penny of BoB sales, so pls be atient with us.)
