Hello A2A team,
I just read the biography of Elly Beinhorn and after WW2 she was the first one to be allowed to fly in post war germany. And now the big surprise  a Piper Cub :!:
It was modified for her with an extra fueltank at the passenger seat.
I think this would be a nice idea. At the moment I always load 20 lbs fuel in the baggage area  , so that I can refill the Cub to get around in the poorly settled areas in Australia.

Regards
Jochen

I guess in theory it would be easy to have a tank in the passenger seat or baggage area with a little hand pump to pump it into the main tank.

How do you load 20lbs of fuel in the baggage area in the game? Or, are you talking about doing it in real life?

By using the payload manager that comes with the Cub and adding 20 lbs of baggage. Then, when you are about to refuel, you remove the 20 lbs of baggage and add 20 lbs to the fueltank. If you want it as real as it gets you can't just rely on excellent addons, you gotta use some imagination as well. ;)

I wonder, though, what the FAA would think about carrying fuel canisters in the baggage compartment? :D

Probably the same thing they think about hand-propping.

You gonna let that stop you?

At 6lbs a gallon...you can add about 3 gallons of fuel in the baggage compartment. Would be nice to find a gas tank that fits the baggage compartment perfectly...humm...sounds like someone can custom make tanks for the Cubs and sell them!

If you're also flying solo, you can strap more gas in the front seat...lots of it...if you can figure out how to keep it from moving around and falling out the door. Make sure you have enough gas to get back home....lol.

The FAA don't care if you carry gas aboard the airplane. Very common in rural areas here in Texas.

Thats it Jigsaw,I do it the same way, I only talk about the virtual fuel in the virtual plane skunker :-)
And the Virtual FAA doesn`t care much about fuel in our planes, and the dont`care about the beer or wine I am drinking, the cigarette I am smoking or anything else when I´m "piping" around. Clear advantages of virtual flying 8)

Jochen

Of course not! Bush pilots are rebels! :D

Hehe, okay. I just remembered that guy who accidently burned down his brand new Cessna while carrying a gas powered lawnmower in the back seat right next to his laptop that was plugged in to the inverter. :D

Here are some pics:
