I've been putting off buying this P47 with Accusim, but I knew I would eventually because I do have the Boeing 377 and love it, and I kept coming back and watching Cody's films over and looking at the screenshots (drulling). Eventually my resistance just broke down. It wasn't really my fault  I couldn't control myself...honest!

At any rate, I'm sure glad that I did cave in and bought it. It is absolutely awesome and much more real than I could ever imagine something in FSX could be. The model is just beautiful inside and out.
I have a ceiling fan over my head and when I was taxing, my papers started blowing on my desk and just for a second I thought...wow.

I have never really piloted an aircraft, but you can tell when something feels right and this sure does. It trims out so nice it is almost like having an auto pilot.
I can land it, just not real pretty yet, but it lands real nice, responding to small inputs of stick, rudder and throttle.

I just wanted to let Scott and the A2A team know that you did a great job making this P47.

I'll be looking for more sims in this class. I see you are making a Piper Cub. That should be interesting :D

Thanks,
Bob

I can't wait to see what else A2A has in store
I have never bought a sim aircraft and then just thought about it all day.
I flew this P47 for several hours last night. Long enough to where I had to make a fuel stop to keep going. Then I finally landed back at Seattle, but my Saitek switch panel doesn't seem to work for the landing gear. I put down the landing gear on the Saitek switch panel, but didn't realize my landing gear really wasn't down. I have crash detection set on with FSX, but I brought it in and set it down so gently, the only way I realized my landing gear wasn't down is when I seen the sparks. If my landing gear were down, it would have been my best landing with it ever. 8) Wouldn't you know it! Well, I'll just start having to hit the "G" key again.
Funny thing is when I use the landing gear lever on the Saitek switch panel, something is making a noise that sounds like landing gear coming down. It fooled me.

I am totally hooked on this P47 and I can't wait to get back on it :D Thanks for all your great films Cody!

Hmm, sounds as if you haven't got the 'trick' on the P47's landing gear cylce 8) (ok, maybe I'm wrong...) Just don't forget that ONE gear cycle needs TWO strokes of "G". This is because of the gear valve having three positions: DOWN - NEUTRAL - UP. At first time loading the gear lever is in NEUTRAL position and thus only needs ONE strike to "G" to move it into UP position. To put the gear down again you need TWO strokes: one to NEUTRAL and the next one to DOWN and next time consequently 2 more strokes NEUTRAL and UP to retract. 8) Verify gear in transit by the AMBER light and gear down and locked by the YELLOW light.

I don't know how the Saitek Stick operates the gear. As from FSX' side there are no separate commands for GEAR UP and GEAR DOWN. It's only possible to toggle. So the stick might only emulate one single "G" stroke which is not enough this time.

Oskar, I believe you hit the nail on the head! That has got to be what is going on.
I'll try it tonight.
I suppose after takeoff, you are supposed to be putting the gear handle in neutral, then I will be able to just pull the Saitek handle one time for landing.

Thank you very much :D

Ahh, no wonder! That explains it.
I always figured that I didn't hit my flightstick button (for landing gear) hard enough. So I'd hit it a second time... and up (or down) go the landing gear. I'm gonna pay more attention to it now.

That works perfect! Now after take off and raising the gear, I put the lever in neutral by hitting the"G" key, then my Saitek gear handle works for landing. Outstanding!
