I've fiddled around with commands usage statistics ;) and different joystick buttons layout and I've come up with something that suites me but maybe someone else is going to find it useful. Either as a profile or a good starting point as it contains a dozen commands already defined which can be easily reassigned. So, here we go...

odg's are OpenOffice Draw Files so you can modify layouts for printing if you modify the SST profile. Please report broken links.

You're welcome! I was loosing hope someone will ever use it  This thread should be a start for "joystick profiles" sticky IMO.

Re empty profile. If it's 17KB it's not empty. You can even open it with a plain text editor. Preferably Notepad++ ;) I don't know what you can possibly do wrong at this point but make sure you read SST documentation or at least watch video tutorials from Saitek Forums. If you still want any file from me just PM your e-mail and prepare your spam filter ;)

Extra tip.
Even the cheapest Saitek joystick has MUCH better pots than all joysticks and controllers I know including 200$ HOTAS COUGAR. Yes, you read me rigt. But! Everything wears. So:

1. Install Saitek drivers and SST software.
2. Enter joystick control panel (extended in comparison to standard windows drivers).
3. Check the DEADZONES tab.
4. Move around just like you do during an intensive dogfight.
5. Watch how far unintentional inputs to your rudder twist axis go.
6. Set a deadzone SAMLLER than unintentional input range.
7. Go to BoB2 GUI - Controls - Custom, pick your rudder axis and choose maximum deadzone and at least low filtering (no saturation!).
8. Go to bdg.txt and set BOB_SMOOTHER_DEADZONE=ON. ***
9. Test it! Always keep BoB2 GUI deadzone at max and adjust the rest in Saitek CP as needed. Do some dogfights and so on. Ofcours if you've set Saitek CP deadzone to zero and you still need less deadzone you should decrease BoB2 GUI deadzone obviously.

THE GOAL:
NO or MINIMUM deadzones and filtering applied to axis and minimum of unintentional inputs.

Most people would need assymetrical deadzone for the rudder twist axis due to simple hand anatomy but unfortunately Saitek CP does not provide such option.

Other axis:
Due to excellent pots in Saitek products I recommend NO deadzone and NO filtering (or LOW at best) for all axis except mentioned rudder axis. Plus real ACs has no deadzone on their controls.

The files are now included in a single zip file (224 KB).

Important note about Saitek Cyborg X!
Do NOT buy this crap!

Soon maybe I'll post some more info. In the meantime watch the crappy Cyborg X video review
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e4lqyLwOis

If you need a cheap and decent dual-throttle (highly recommended for BoB 2) joystick RIGHT NOW go for Saitek Aviator (AV8R)!
If you want the same but with single throttle go for Saitek Aviator (AV8R) too! ;) Or the old good Saitek Cyborg Evo (not X!).

If I don't have time to write more about this - just trust me.

I can't trust you because I bought this joy and I am very happy with it. Go advertise other joystick manufacturers products somewhere else!

Oh, I see. He is a "joystick's executioner" and thus he requires some "panzerjoy"...

I believe Joystick cream and a lot of bandages gets him going until he "breaks it" once again.

The thing about Saitek Cyborg X defenders is rather simple - Battlefield """aces""". They are usualy the most happy people on the planet (enjoying the crap with 20% axis play they bought with no second thoughts) and they lack technical...well, ... everything.

Edit:
Ultor, I recommended a joystick model of the SAME manufacturer, if you didn't notice.
