while we wait for a2a to release a proper paint kit for the f4u corsair i thought id try another way to repaint one useing one of the stock models its not as good as if i had a proper paint kit but it will do until one is released so here it is marines dream for the F4U-1A i have started a version of this corsair for the F4U-1D which will be ready tomorrow at some point

Looking Great so far!!! Just woundering...could this paint be applied to the F4U-1D model? Because I prefer the twin drop tanks.

stearmanaviator i can paint a F4U-1D version for you after i have finished this one that im doing now ill have this one done in a few hrs and ill start the f4u-1d version

That looks great so far! I'm going to have to add it to my hangar this evening

I haven't had a chance to really look at the textures yet, but I"m hoping it's possible to change the gauges some, I'd like to add some yellow "weathering" to the lettering and the needles to give them a little more "old" feel.

thank you for the comment Darrell if your going to try and do the weathering effect i would wait till a2a release the paint kit you will get a much better effect here is were im up to with the F4U-1D version of marines dream as you can see its not finished yet but it will be done in a few hrs

Is there any way to fix the unpainted antenna masts and the back of the cowl flaps?

i think so give me a few hrs and ill have a look to see if i can fix it

ok this is a single file that fixes the unpainted antenna on the F4U-1D marines dream just unzip and place the body1.dds file in to this folder texture.marines dream F4U-1D and replace the file that is all ready there

when a2a release the paint kit i will be repainting a better version these repaint that i have all ready done

Wow, that looks great!! Any chance you could upload the repaints at the Sim-Outhouse? Everytime I try to download the F4u-1D version, RapidShare keeps telling me I'm already downloading a file, which I'm not, and it blocks me from downloading anything else.

i use rapidshare due to avsim and sim-outhouse constantly getting hacked but if you have problems in downloading my links let me know and ill up load them to another sight like file den

so here is a new link for the F4U-1D marines dream with the fixed file already in the texture folder there should be no problems in downloading this one i hope but if there is let me know and as soon as sim-outhouse is up and running again ill up load it there
