I have been a long fan of war birds, nose art and the men and women who fought WWII. I just bought your B-17, which is awesome.

I am working on building a WWII (virtual) Museum type deal, something I would do if I ever had a few hundred million lay around for sure.

Does anyone know of any outstanding scenery objects that can be gotten that are of the WWII era?

I have also looked for the Heavy Bombers and Fighters download on your store and do not see it, as I am most likely over looking it. Is the B-17 better there or the stand alone?

Most interested in your B-24 as well, I have the one put out recently by a competitor and thought you would have added more to yours than that one.

Any and all advice is welcomed and appreciated.

A2A Simulations used to be known as Shockwave Productions. The Heavy Bombers and Jets addon was Shockwave's debut into the Flight Simulator market. This was before FSX, during the FS2004 days.

They then repackaged their B-17 models into a single download package. I believe the only advantage the single download has over Heavy Bombers and Jets is that the download comes with more skins and a scanned copy of the historic B-17 manual.

A few years later, the company rebuilt their B-17G from scratch as a new product for FSX. This version is the most detailed.

The B-24 is only available through the Heavy Bombers and Jets package. Heavy Bombers and Jets was reissued at the end of 2006 on a DVD-ROM titled Aircraft Power Pack. This is the best way to get Heavy Bombers and Jets as it comes with all the updates and bonus skins, plus there is an install option for FSX. You'll also get the Wings of Power II Solo P-51D model on the APP pack.

As for scenery, it would help us help you if you told us what version of Flight Simulator you are using. I know there are several scenery downloads for FS2004 that represent WWII bases in England. These probably won't work in FSX however.

Just the kind of info I was looking for. Sorry for not saying, I thought this was a FS9 section, so I did not mention that is what I am using.

Looking forward to some more info and thanks once more

Cees Donker made several WWII airbase sceneries, mostly specializing in airfields used by the 8th AF. Try this link:

Another designer that contributed several WWII sceneries is Ian Elliot. His specialty seems to be RAF bases. Try this:

I also have a few sceneries by Ted 'Snuffy' Hadden in my collection. I can't find where I got them however. Usually I've gotten my downloads from either Simviation or AVSIM.

Here is a list of WWII UK airfields I have; this may help you with cross searches:

Many airfields, especially those by Cees and Ian come with period static aircraft. :)

in that regard you have to be careful plotting your aircraft placement on start up as a couple times I've dropped my start up aircraft on top of a static and of course the crash took place.

I have got just about everything donw, I just need some movable static planes. Anyone know of a place I can find some for the era?

I have found scenery with them, but am not able to get them to work in EZ or show up.

I also have found a M48 tank, but can't get it to work either.
