Shining aluminium t6

Post by Tobus75 »

Im trying to make a repaint of the t6 with a shining polish like 8055's Dazzling Deb, but cant get it right.
Can anyone enlighten me on the secrets of shining polished aluminium?

To get an idea into what needs to be done, have a look at the files included in the texture folder of the paint you wish to emulate. Using your paint program, examine the dds files, paying particular attention to the Alpha channels of the main t6_t.dds and spec t6_s.dds textures. Put simply, the darker the Alpha in the main texture, the shinier it should look. Be aware though, that the spec file also plays a role in what the finished visual result will be.

Have a look at this thread by EightyFiftyFive for more information, with a peek into the thought process behind it.
