Hi there,
As I want to make some basics tutorials for some friends, i'm using A2A's C182 Paintkit with Gimp and Photoshop.
I meet an issue with Gimp : the linear burn layer
Shown :
Hidden :
If this layer is hidden, i will loose shadows (at least ?). Is there a workaround ?
Thank You !

Hi...
I had the same issue when I imported the paint kit into Paint Shop Pro - I found when I did the import that particular layer was labeled "burn" but the layer type wasn't actually set to burn... Simply changing the layer type in PSP fixed it for me... Check your Gimp Layer Type ? Hopefully it has something that equates to burn...
Regards,
Scott

Re: Gimp Vs Photoshop : linear burn
Been fumbling around in Gimp and just literally stumbled on one possibility.
Select the 'Linear Burn' layer,
then, from the 'Layer' menu, select Mask\Add Layer Mask
In the window that opens, select the 'Grayscale copy of layer' option and tick the 'Invert Mask' option.
Click the 'Add' button and that's it.
I have no idea if this is the proper way to do it but it looks okay. What you really need is a reply from one of our Gimp experts.
Steve.
