P-51D Mil Ridge Runner III help request

Post by MDIvey »

because I couldn't find a repaint of P-51D "Ridge Runner III" (that doesn't mean there isn't one... I just couldn't find it), I set about doing one for myself. It looks pretty good but I have a minor issue that the gap between front of fuselage and spinner, the inside of exhaust pipes and gaps between engine panels are appearing white as though there is nothing there. If anyone can help me identify where these bits are textured I might be able to work out what I've done wrong.... or maybe you've had the same problem in the past and can advise on how to get round it. Thanks.

Matt Ivey

Don't have a facility to post pics here but have a couple in the thread below if you want to take a look to see what I'm talking about.

Thanks for coming to my rescue Jan... that looks perfect. I'm going to try it out for myself now. Been a busy week and no time available for a flying until now.

P-51D-10-NA 44-14221 WD-A "Ridge Runner III", as flown by Major Pierce W. McKennon between 19 March and 16 april 1945, when he was wounded during a strafing mission. This was his third aircraft named "Ridge Runner".

I had no idea, but I just counted 76 of them on OZx, and that's only the accusim version.
I fear there's far more for the earlier versions...

Just wanted to thank all the people who do these amazing repaints! It matters and it matters more now since people in VR can get out of the cockpits and stand on the wings and along the fuse like real pilots. Seeing a nicely detailed airplane sitting there waiting to take to the skies really sets the stage and increases immersion big time! I've got a whole collection of your repaints, Jankees. Great stuff!

Thank you and thanks to everyone who has the talent to do these so well!
