Well, for me it's kind of a habit now to come and check this forum every day now. I don't know what I'll do when he does release it. BTW never put your baby down. You only get to be a new parent once and hold onto that as long as you can. I'll wait. That said, YOUR KILLING ME! :D

Hi friends.

My FSX was down for about a week. Had to uninstall FSX to free up some cache on my SSD for After Effects.

BUT... just completed a fresh FSX install on a new dedicated 250GB SSD. Sweet!

90GB left after installing all the addons I own. :(

Well, I'll be good through 2014, at least. Maybe.

I'll get this bird warmed up this weekend, and hopefully get 'er out the hangar door. I really appreciate the interest in my work. You guys are awesome.

Well BB we have heard nothing and are still waiting.Put us out of our apprehension and tell us if you really are going to finish this or is it going the same way as in your first post.
I hope you finish it,and can see no reason why you shouldn't.You said you needed a kick occasionally, well take this as a friendly one.
regards Chris

Beautiful paint project :D Your scheme brings back memories of hours sitting in old 172s. I've flown both classic 172s and 'next gen' 172s...I preferred the 'character' of the older models for some reason. Anyway, good luck with it, looking forward to adding this beauty to the hangar. Please don't rush it, enjoy your time with your family. I know how time consuming big paint projects can be and time spent with the little ones is much more important. :)

Interestingly with the available speed mods, you almost have a Hawk 'XP with the A2A 172.

Cheers

Painting an aircraft can take a lot of time to get it right, more than just a paint as in what you are doing is very time consuming and very tedious work. If you are willing to let people help I am sure that some people here are willing. I wish I could help but I know less than nothing bought painting one. The only experience I have is Auto Cad and Mud Box. Looking forwards to this projects completion.

yes, pretty strange how he worked on it for a month posting all those screenshots to wet everyone's appetite and then just vanishes with no explanation for the last 2 months. Life tends to take over sometimes so no big deal, but isn't it time to remove this thread now? If he ever changes his mind and comes back he can always post another new thread, yes?

...been waiting on the Piper for a long time but work such as this makes me want to buy into the C172 :-)

This is my first repaint. I've played around with a half-dozen or so other repaints on a variety of aircraft, but this one will be taken to the finish line.

You can see from this extract from the first post that the chance of this project being concluded were doubtful from the start, however having pm'd bladder boy he assured me he would finish it.Since then he has said he will "get it out this weekend "etc.
It is a great shame 'cos he is obviously very talented but lacks drive.
leave the post open because I believe he may come good eventually(hope you are reading this BB)
What is the expression" the road to ----------"
Come on BB it will only take a last push to finish it and you will be congratulated.
Left unfinished we will draw our own conclusions and go away disappointed.
BB you said we were awesome(not a word I like as a 76 year old)We are not awesome, just waiting and hoping.

They also take over ones FSX rig and one gets used pressing the "fix everything" button before taking off. I fear the day my son is asking for the car keys of my Stingray :D ("NOT EVEN IN YOUR DREAMS!!")

But you are right Lewis, It's worth it!

cheers, f

So true Lewis. They can spit at you, then smile and you can't be even angry with them :o
But keep them away from keyboards
