I am getting some other freelance work out of the way today, but tomorrow I plan to wrap this baby up. Much thanks to those expressing excitement for this repaint - makes the project worth the time and effort :D

I'm down to the ittybittybits. Almost done. Here's a quick update...

Night panel -

Image

Warning stickers, throttle and lean metallic knob buttons, all text on dash replaced with vintage font, subtle grunge overall -

Image

Appropriate fuel valve selector panel, illustrated from scratch. It looks exactly like the old one, but the text was changed to work for the modern aircraft modeled by A2A (except the modern 172 doesn't have a "OFF" setting.)

Image

Exterior is finished except for a little spot on the intake (overlooked it but glad I noticed), and a wonky seam on the fairings. I may leave this as-is. I think the UV mapping is wonky, not my line. I will make sure before giving up on it.

Image

And finally... I need a little help on this one. I can't seem to find good reference for the wing tips on Hawk XP II. It's not exactly right. Maybe someone can direct me to a decent reference photo? Preferably one that looks down on the wing tip? I have a couple from the side.

Image

Cheers.

Your work is quite exciting! I need to fly this also. I'm old enough to relate to this type of color scheme.
I think my dad had a 15ft. Star Craft ski boat with that type of color scheme on the seats. (late '60's)

I can't wait! Any way you can include the PSD/XCF files with the layers so we can easily change the "n-number" and the paint colors? Also, if you could include the layered files for the interior that would be awesome.

Yep I'll post those as well.

Hopefully I can wrap this week. I may have stated this before, but I'm a new dad, so my spare time has been a little thin for the last 7 weeks.

So close!

Congrats. Enjoy every minute.
