Repaints

I created a repaint forum yesterday for this very reason. It will take a bit of time but I'll slowly add bits and bobs and I'm sure others will too.

Start by downloading DXTBmp here:
http://dxtbmp.softpedia.com/

You'll want it up and running even before reading what everyone has to say.

If using photoshop I wouldnt bother with DXT BMP. Its easier to just use the photoshop .dds plugin and do all your work within one program.

Nvidea .dds plugin;

JanKees says "You also have a dds module for photoshop, but for some reason that never worked for me, so I always use DXTBMP"

I'll give them both a try and see what works best for me.

Thanks

Yes, ive no idea why it wouldnt work for Jankees. Its a standard Photoshop plugin. Just follow the install instructions and away you go. You have a save as .dds function within photoshop.

Nice and easy 8)

with large files, the plugin says 'too many layers to save' and doesn't work, so I quit trying.
Besides, if it does work, my bottom screen menu bar disappears, so no, I don't like that plugin...

nope, nvidia geforce 9600.
I've installed and reinstalled etc, but always the same.
But as you can see from my paints, things work just fine using dxtbmp, so no worries

The large psd files of the A2A paint kits do have a lot of layers, most of which may not be displayed. The above problem may be eliminated by simply Flattening the layers prior to exporting with the nVidia plugin. After export, just do a Alt-Ctrl-Z and the layers will be back!

Works every time for me!

+1
Ted is right and I can back him up from personal experience. I've had that error when forgetting to flatten, and when I have any extra "channels" in the menu. I've sometimes wound up with an extra alpha channel when importing into the base file and if I don't delete it, it won't export.

As for the menu bar dissappearing, no idea.
