A2A C172 fictional Piano paint

Post by Turbine777 »

Hiya folks,
Just wanted to show my Piano paint. It's fictional of course and piano being my other passion (out of simming) I decided to combine the two. Been ages since I did paints but then again the A2A is pretty easy to paint :)

About to do a format and fresh install, fun fun. Just bought the Oculus rift and dieing to see it in action, but I need to first clear up some major .net issues. That being said I won't be around for a bit, but if anyone wants such a paint I'll of course make it available once complete.

Odd. I attached a picture but even though it is only 1 picture, and below the 256kb, the forum message states "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.". Haha, ok then. Well, guess I'll try to upload a shot after the reinstall.
Laters...

Ok, I uploaded somewhere else so will try one more time with bbcode.

Edit: Haha, never mind. Nothing works. When done I'll just upload it with my other paints on avsim.
bye bye now.

Thanks, Tomas & Lewis.

Been off for a bit, while I make time for the whole reinstall & tweak game.

Here goes another try following the advice of adding the dl. . Woot, it works! Thanks again!
Soon as I get my issue fixed I'll be able to get back to it.

ahh nice repaint, I like the keys on the wing. Are you a player then, what inspired you to do the Piano repaint?

thanks,

Thanks, Lewis.

I used to be a painter. Mostly heavies and although I did a lots of replicas I preferred crazy fictitious painting. For instance, when I first flew the PMDG MD-11 the 3rd engine looked like a beer can, so I painted this. Engines as beer kegs of course.

After seeing Iron Maiden's documentary I created a spin off (totally different) of their beauty. The MD-11 had specific dds files for night so I love to play with it and give people a surprise with their LM files.

I retired after my 911 PMDG 748 paint. 13 months to complete. Every name of every person that passed that day, each engine with each aircraft's manifest and the tail was all those from the Pentagon. Typing the names was a small part compared to constantly rearranging them to get the right look. The wings are "wings" and I even through out PMDG's speculars and bump mapping and did them completely new to show each name carved in and the wings deeply feathered.

My video of it here.

Around the same time I was creating HD paint kits for fsx/fs9 payware that the developer either didn't create or simply didn't have the time. Fun fun. I've mainly fly A2A's C172 lately and just getting back into simming from long ago. One day I just noticed the high points on the ailerons, elevator and flaps and instantly thought it would be fun to do them as piano keys. :D

Oh, and yes, I love to play piano as well. This way I don't feel so bad skipping a night's practice since I'm at least flying the ivories rather than playing them ;)
