Civilian Mustang Trouble

Post by TomSteber »

I've owned the Civilian Mustang for some time and it is my all time favorite to fly. I was flying it for several months and had no problems what so ever.
Then I had a new computer built for me.

This computer has all the bells and whistles to finally run FSX the way I always wanted. Everything else loads and runs well, including
the A2A Piper Cub with Accu-Sim, but the Mustang makes FSX and the computer lock up. It will load and everything looks fine. I'm able to move the controls. But as soon as I try to open the canopy or start the engine, everything freezes and I am forced to reboot the computer. I have quite a few payware planes and they all load and fly fine. I'm also running the latest version of Accu-Feel. Computer runs great and FSX runs great.

I've looked for an event code and am finding an event but no code.
I've even tried re-downloading the Mustang. Same results. My old computer was running Windows XP. New computer running Windows 10. Don't know if that makes any difference.
Really hoping someone here can help. I was really looking forward to flying my Mustang on the new system and also want to get the new AT-6.
Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Could be a sim connect issue. I used to get that problem with the military mustang.

Sorry, I should know this. What is a "Simconnect"? And how do I reinstall it?
I forgot to mention that when it first loads, if I open the Maintenance Hanger, it's completely black.
All the other windows are normal.

Just to clarify Tom, from the other thread you started this is the non-Accu-Sim Mustang in FSX Gold Edition right?

It sounds to me like the crash could be happening when the sim tries to play a sound effect (engine start, canopy etc) so it may be worth checking your default Windows audio device and drivers.

Cheers,
Nick

They should be all good as the computer is less than a month and a half old. All drivers were updated on install. But will look into it. Would this only effect the Mustang? The A2A Cub and all the rest of my payware and freeware run fine.
Going out of town this weekend. Hopefully have time afterwards to find the fix.

To be honest, not exactly sure how the sounds are played in the non-Accu-Sim Mustang Tom (I have the Accu-Sim version) but something else to check is whether any anti-virus software you run has 'quarantined' any files during the Mustang installation process.

Also, just worth double-checking that you've actually got the 'Acceleration' disk from FSX Gold installed?

Thanks,
Nick

Can you let us know what the event viewer states after the crash?
