Century III autopilot question

Post by rcoultas »

Hello, I've enjoyed my Mil P-51 for many hours now, so I bit the bullet and purchased the CIV P-51 to run some IFR cross countries. Fabulous aircraft of course! I was reading the Century III manual and came across this and wondered if this indicator light existed in the aircraft?

[Excerpt from manual]

INDICATOR LIGHT
The Glideslope Coupler incorporates a panel mounted green indicator light. This
light will turn ON at the same time automatic switching takes place to couple the
Autopilot to the glide path. This light will stay lit until such time as the unit is decoupled.
As this light only shows that the Glideslope Coupler is switched into the
Autopilot and not actual position relative to glide path. The deviation indicator must
be monitored during the approach.

This autopilot is actually way more capable than I thought at first glance. I am impressed with the modelling of the autopilot, and if anyone hasn't read the Century III manual, it's a good read! Thanks guys

Edit: The link I found in this forum is outdated. Here is the new link if anyone is interested.
