I get the "nil value detected" error every time I start the Mustang from the main (create a flight) menu. It works if I load the default cesna and then load the 'stang from the ingame menu. Can this be fixed in a future update?

This can be due to a corrupt flight. Once you have it loaded properly, try saving the flight as default, over-writing the default flight you have.

If this doesn't work, and you are able to reproduce a nil value error, please list exactly what you are doing, as we are not getting any of these errors.
Scott.

Hi!

Unfortunately, I still get a nil value error, when I try to change the time of day.

I did like u told, saved another P51 flight over my previous standard flight, made it my standard flight and loaded the other P51 flight. But when I try to change the time of day, I'm gettin the Nil value error.

Weird thing is that i get this error, even when I select the P51 in the main menu.
Once, I loaded my standard flight with the p51 in it, I loaded another flight with the pmdg MD-11 and got a nil value error again.

Maybe a corrupt installation of the P51? Should I try a reinstall?

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

It's not a corrupt installation. Some factors can play a role, mostly being related to the DAT files.

Did you try deleting your DOCUMENTS / A2A / FSX / P-51 / P51log.dat file?

Hi Scott!

Yep, just deleted the p51log.dat file, but problem persists.

Cheers

This may not be the same fault but weeks ago I was getting an "attempt to call a nil value stack traceback" at FSX start-up and found nothing to help with many searches, then out of frustration I used the Acceleration DVD to 'repair' the install.
It took nearly an hour but it fixed everything.

It may be worth a shot.

Hmm, my exact failure messages is "attempt to call a nil value"

I will try reinstalling the acceleration pack if nothing else helps. But then I have to reinstall the core update again, right?

I just tried something: I loaded the p51 flight directly from the main menu without loading my default flight before. And then I don't get the failure. But this is not how it should be done, is it?

Cheers

FSX loads flight differently from the UI than from the main. The safest way is to either save a known good flight as default, or load the flight from within the in-game pull-down menu.

Scott.

Normally I load all addon aircraft saved flights from the dropdown menu, after loading my default flight.
And the loading itself isn't the problem. The problem is, that I get the "attempt to call a nil value" error, when I change the time of day or the weather.

But when I load the p51 without previously loading the default flight, I can change the time of day or the weather, without getting the "attempt to call a nil value" error.
And I just don't know, why it does that.

Also I have noticed, that sometimes the panel state is not loaded correctly, when loading a p51 flight which has been saved in cruise. The RAM Air lever is turned to unrammed and the cockpit vent is fully open, although it was rammed air and the vent was closed, when I saved the flight before. The heater and defroster were off also.

If you need anything, some protocol or something like that, let me know.

Thanks for your efforts, i really appreciate it and love flying the mustang. It really is addicting.

Cheers

A2A P-51 should NEVER be your default flight!!! Use a fsx default aircraft, put it on a default airport, save and use that.

Today I also got the error "attempt to call a nil value".

What happend was:
-I started AS 2012
-The startet FSX
-Selected "Free flight"
-Selected EKEB as starting location
-Selected the A2A P-51D "Blondie"
-The started by clicking "Fly"
-Flight loaded, but no Accusim click sounds when operating the switches
-A few seconds after --> "attempt to call a nil value" was reported.

I tried to reload the aircraft -> nogo, then reloaded the Flight situation -> nogo.
Then I selected the default Cessna 172 and after that was loaded -> reselected the P-51D and all worked from then also Accusim sounds.

Hi!

Yep, I know. I just wanted to point out, that the problem persists in every kind of loading technique.
I already made a default airplane my standard flight again but still the same error occurs, when I try to change the time of day after loading the p51.

Cheers

Error and Lockups! Sometimes it requires a "reboot" to get back into Woin 7. I have noticed it most offten after a "crash". When I start the flight again, I go to the Hanger, but when I try an overhaul, LOCK UP!

Problem not solved!!!!

EDIT: Now I cant "overhaul" the a/c. When I try--- Lock up "nil" error msg-- "contro Alt- Delete"!
Now it is doing the same thing in the P 40 and the controls are AFU! The Slider on my X52 is set for "prop axis" in FSX and works in the P51, but in the P40, it moves the rudders, and has no effect on the throttle???
Found that if I "x" out of the "request nil value" error msg, it will not lick FSX.
