Dear all,

great bird! Been waiting since the first announcement and therefore very excited that she is mine now! Thank you A2A very much.

But :) some small issues I found:

1. I hear no whistle at flyby. I checked the sound.cfg and the sound folder, the whistle is there, but not audible during flyby or anything else.

2. After startup, the outside sound at one particular cone position is stuck at high RPM, gets cleared after flying, maybe by "cycling" the different RPM sounds. The cone position where this static sound is audible is right front.

And.... a pity... after core update 1.3 all my Spit & P-40 hours are lost again...!!! This is no fun, really. How can I keep my hard flown hours on these birds?

Best regards,
E.

I can't answer the others, but I can answer #1. Simply put, the whistle isn't there at all times. You'll just have to find out when she's around.

Try a full power flyby at low altitude for the whistle.

Sometimes external sounds in FSX are glitchy, when you go from cockpit to external too.

I am sorry about the hours. We've tried to preserve these, but have to look for a better solution down the road when we make major updates to the engine.

Scott.

What a pity,

same issue as Erlk0enig.

Lost my hours of my world tour P40 after 116 hrs of flight !!

Made a copy of C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\A2A\FSX\... folders to save states prior P51 and core update installation.
Thereafter overwriting DAT files with the saved old ones, but all hours are gone.

Any solution :?:

I wanted to make a complete world flight with only one engine, after the half of my tour that challange is over now :!:

I am very very angry.

Yep I lost my hours too! just like Erlk0enig & Nico081,
I kept them backed up but that didn't help, is there no way of a core update without losing the hours, I'm getting to a point where the engine never has a chance to show any wear, I fly the Spitfire every day and all I needed to change since the last update was the brakes!
Oh well! despite that I'm happy as I've waited for this update....Thanks.

I also have a sound cone issue. Seemes to be in external view in about the 3 oclock position sounding like high power setting while other positions sound normal.

I confirm that idle sound issue in external view from 1-4 o´clock.

We think we found a solution. We'll post it in the next 24 hrs.

After second fligh found additional following sound issues:

-Inside cockpit and external view EPU has no perceptible sound
-Only while a full throttle flyby whistling was noticable, but while taxiing back at 800-1000RPM whistling was still permanent audible, front left and right around the P51 in external view. Not from rear view.

I'm going to make a little test to verify it fixes this on everyone's machine, and if it works, we'll get the fix in the next core update. Scott.

I'm glad I'm not just hearing things, Only just got the Mustang and that High RPM sound had me confused. I take it that even though I only just downloaded the Mustang this past week that I still need to DL an update for a fix on this issue?
I wasn't sure if updates were installed already since they were released before I purchased the aircraft.

PS Sorry about posting so late but as I said I only just got this product.

Greetings CIWS01,

This is true of all A2A aircraft; no matter when you download the aircraft, you're getting the ORIGINAL RELEASE file. You WILL need to apply all updates.

There are a variety of reasons for this, chief among them being for the sake of simplicity on A2A's end. Suffice to say that it's well discussed elsewhere on the forums and A2A has sound, justifiable reasons for doing things the way they do. Since I'm not a part of A2A, I'll refrain from going further into that. ;)

Hope this helps!

-Ian

Sounds good to me. I was just not sure so I figured I would ask, downloading a patch is easy stuff and nothing I would complain about. Thanks for the quick reply! :D
