Engine flames

Post by Glider1 »

Hi there - thanks so much for this beautiful simulation of an aircraft. If the P3Dv4 version every comes out, could you simulate the flames coming out of the engine on startup?

or does it cost too much fps?

Hello,

glad you like the aircraft, any large flames would be due to an over prime normally.

thanks,

If you have the Accusim plugin for your Mustang, you will notice that sudden power changes can cause the engine to backfire, resulting in flames coming out the exhaust! Nothing as dramatic as the video, but it is there. Also, the flames may be related to your sim's "Effects Quality" slider. Having that all the way to the right might make them more noticeable - although beware, max Effects Quality can also lead to frame rate drops in situations that produce a lot of smoke or particles.
