I am thinking of purchasing FSX through Steam and was wondering if your A2A aircraft playable through steam. Also, how do you add different paints and update the config files ?
Thanks
Steam FSX and A2a
Re: Steam FSX and A2a
Hi and welcome to the forums,
All A2A FSX airplanes are fully compatible with FSX Steam.
To add a different paint scheme you need to put a copy of the paint scheme folder under your model:
Placing the textures:
\your main sim folder\SimObjects\Airplanes\A2A_C172, contains the 3 default repaints \texture.F-GOAP , \texture.N7274H and texture.N990CP as sub folders
of the aircraft folder
example: \SimObjects\Airplanes\A2A_C172\texture.F-GOAP
for the new repaint, I placed all its textures in such separate sub folder like \texture.N80991 in example
Updating aircraft.cfg file:
aircraft.cfg is in the specific aircraft model main folder like for our example it would be here:
\SimObjects\Airplanes\A2A_C172\aircraft.cfg
Open aircraft.cfg with an editor and you will find this at the beginning:
[accusim]
//The version below only indicates when this file was last edited and is rarely the same as the core update version
version = 2.14
[fltsim.0]
title=C172R default
sim=C172
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=N7274H
kb_checklists=C172_check
kb_reference=C172_ref
atc_id=N7274H
ui_manufacturer=A2A Cessna
ui_type="C172R Skyhawk"
ui_variation="N7274H"
ui_typerole="Single Engine Prop"
ui_createdby="A2A Simulations Inc."
description=""
Depending on how many models you have [fltsim.0] increments [fltsim.1] [fltsim.2], you must find the last one in our example it would be number 2 because they start from 0 and create a copy of the entire block of code shown above and paste it below block [fltsim.2]
Your new block should start with [fltsim.3] and look like that:
[fltsim.3]
title=C172R N80991
sim=C172
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=N80991
kb_checklists=C172_check
kb_reference=C172_ref
atc_id=N80991
ui_manufacturer=A2A Cessna
ui_type="C172R Skyhawk"
ui_variation="N80991"
ui_typerole="Single Engine Prop"
ui_createdby="A2A Simulations Inc."

Save your aircraft.cfg file and ready to go. Next time you power up your sim the new livery (paint scheme) should be there.
P.S. Similar thread from the forum: http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 98&t=30320
P.S. 2 I apologize I gave you the example with Cessna under the Mustang thread but the principle is the same.
Just have in mind P-51 Mustang folder under SimObjects is NOT named A2A_P51, but WoP3_P51D or WoP3_P51D_civ (for the civilian)

Will
