Arguably the finest fighter aircraft of World War II.

P51 Civilian Mustang kicks off NZ leg of my world tour

Post by sloppysmusic »

World tour of all the OrbX regional scenery currently available worldwide, using exclusively A2A aircraft flying only in live real world weather supplied by Active Sky 2016. Today we start our full New Zealand tour from Kaitaia (NZKT) in the far north. Using the P-51 Mustang we head to the northenmost tip of the country to spot Cape Reinga lighthouse, then return south to Kerikeri (NZKK). A short hop to the scenic harbor airport of Whangarei (NZWR) follows. Strong winds prevail today and with a 25/35 knot head wind we HAVE to land on the short grass approach runway 32. My first grass strip landing in the Mustang! No worries, the strong headwing made it as breeze....(!) For the last leg of today's tour we fly over Dargaville (NZDA) amd Ruawai (NZRW) before heading to today's 'home', Springhill (NZSL). Wind finally calmed down but a very low haze near our destination meant low flying and a short approach pattern. Thanks for watching!
