Steam Edition installing repaints

Post by werner76aj »

Hello all,

I have made the change from FSX Steam Edition and all seems to be working ok. I have tried to install the P-51D Civ Ol' Yeller repaint and follow all the instructions to put the texture in the proper folder and add the airplane to the .cfg file. Something is odd, as the airplane does not show up at all when the game is launched. Is there something simple I am missing? I added the repaint the same way I always did in FSX Acceleration.

Any help is much-appreciated.

Have you got show all versions ticked in the aircraft menu?

Cheers Chris
PS Do you mean "to" steam or "from" steam

Oops, typed my topic too quick and didn't proof read... I Made the change from FSX Acceleration Edition to FSX Steam Edition. I did a full system cleanse and installed FSX SE with no trace of FSX Accel.

I did check show all variants and it just isn't there. Very strange...

I haven't had a problem.

Where are you putting the texture folder?

In the config file are you remembering to take out the xx out of the [fltsim.XX] and insert the next number in sequence and then save the config file?

Put the texture folder in the sim objects, aircraft, and then p51 civ folder

Weird isn't it?

Yes - my guess would be that a typo or duplicated entry has worked its way into the aircraft.cfg file. If you post the edited contents of the file here we can check.

Thanks,
Nick

Aha yes I was wondering if that was the case, it sounds like a repaint meant for the warbird military version, as you noted though a quick edit and your normally good to go with the civ version too. We tried to make sure the repaints would work on both.

Glad to hear you are up and running, happy flying.
