I had the widows open last night, and this morning I woke up to the sound of a Merlin and a distinct whistle flying low over the house.

I love the summer airshow season. :) Just wish I could get him to do that every morning.

Ha ha, you must be a morning person. There was no way I was getting downstairs and outside fast enough...

Barrington- A white male in his mid 30's was arrested this morning standing in his underwear looking up at the sky. The police report states he was muttering something about oil coolers, and manifold pressure. Further updates as they become available.

Not quite as good, but my Dad got back from Canada last week and we went to collect him from my Sister's house just outside Warwick to ferry him out to his own house in Shropshire. Just before we left, I was having a 'discussion' with my eight year old nephew about aircraft that basically consisted of him saying 'old aeroplanes are rubbish'.

Just as we came out of the house and started strapping into the car, trying to get out of a sudden heavy shower, I spotted a black dot moving way too fast to be a Cessna. Stuff the rain, as a Spitfire swooped low over the village, under the clouds, then looped around and did it again. Mrs. P. was too involved in trying to put a toddler in a car seat. My sister, father, nephew and myself just stood there getting wet and listening to the receding Merlin. There's hope for the kid yet. ;)
