Personal Repaint

Post by bedrat2 »

This is my personal P-51D "Quack Attack", I borrowed the nose art from Capt. Donald R Emerson of the 336th FS, 4th FG airframe number 44-13317. I did D-Day Stripes and some other custom touches let me know what you think. Thank you A2A for such a beautiful aircraft to start with.

Thanks, it took some time but it was well worth it. Here it is in flight, I've done very well with it. My Crew Chief has had no complaints the only thing is I don't like how each airframe doesn't retain it's own information.

Because the P-51D has only one variant where the P-47 has 3

Yeah I tried to create my own variant but Accu-sim still changed it along with the other planes. Thanks for the info.

So to personalize the plane even more I created it's my own variant so I could change just the pilot of my aircraft. I put text on the May West Life Jacket, gave him blueish eyes and the 8th Air Force patch. I was trying to figure out how to put Captain's bars on but were the splits are I can get it to come out right and I have yet to figure out how to do my own face in .DDS form. I was thinking about using my B-17 pilot but the .DDS are no where near the same.

Cool looking paint.
Question? Even if you dont upload the paint, could you maybe upload the changes for the life jacket and patch. I know me and possibly others would like this kind of personalization for our birds....

So I wanted to make my aircraft more realistic so I did "Quack Attack" Redux. This P-51D serial number 44-14371 belonged to the 354th Fighter Squadron 355th Fighter Group out of Steeple Morden, England. The P-51D had the code WR-Z and I've done my own personal repaint around that.

So It's been a while, I really haven't been flying my Mustang I've been flying my F-14 with Tacpack, but I decided that it was time to revisit my P-51D and do a little bit of cleaning up and good old school flying. So I changed the pilot's face to my own after playing around with it for a little while. My wife says it eerily looks like me. I'm still with the 354th fighter Squadron out of Steeple Morden Strafers code WR-Z. Below is a couple of pictures of my person aircraft, one modern and one vintage.
