Hello,

not sure why but the paint is showing super blurry on my end. Did you save with mipmaps on by mistake? :?

Lewis,

Thanks for the heads up. I have my fsx.cfg file set at a higher resolution so never noticed this in my repaints. All fixed now. I re-uploaded the files (same link as above).

I'm also uploading to Simviation.com for those who wanted an alt site to download. I'll post the link when it's up

The paint looks real good!
I have the new paint kit and I can get a real nice shinny silver look but can't seam to get the polish bare metal look.
I've messed with the alphas light and dark but can't get it. You guys have a little trick I'm missing?
Keep up the great work.

the repaint is now up at Simviation.com. You can look for it there or use the link posted in the original post.

Wallydog I like your repaint alot, THX, however recently I flew the glossy variant in a sky clear environment and the wings were reflecting oddly enough cumulus clouds.
It made me wonder what kind of texture logic is behind all this.
This is not a complaint, it doesn't matter to me actually, I'm just curious.

FSX unfortunately does not have (at least as far as I know) the graphic capability to do realtime mirrored effects. Chrome effects, rear view mirrors, etc., make use of a static texture file to produce this effect. In this case it's the env.dds file. The clouds you're seeing are from this file.

Tim I believe was the one that first posted on this on how to achieve that high glossy look.
